From: Raindrop Cooperstone to get a good young teen face, you can buy a baby avatar skin and use it on an (everything else) adult type avatar, and the avatar will look like it's 12-15. Baby avatar skin? Why not use a child.. or make up free adult skin? there are plenty of those which workout.. Though i suppose a baby skin could work, it just struck me as odd since there are skin makers who make child skins.. and teen skins... and there are make up free (and thus very young and fresh faced) adult skins...

From: Pserendipity Daniels It sounds like you are already doing pretty well at rping a teenager, not communicating well, being grounded and then whinging that "it's not fair" . . . LOL this is true!

That's what I did, found a really nice makeup-free adult skin. Since I have red hair, I looked around forever for a skin with freckles and little to no makeup. Finally found the perfect one at Laqroki. The other fun part was finding an adult skin without too much shading in the chest area.

Recently i've fallen in love with Curio skins too. For me chest shading isn't completely an issue since my avatars don't run around nude. However, for my own preference, i do like when the shading matches my vision of the avatar even if no one else will ever see it.

I do have a couple of outfits with v-necks and my bathing suit top that show some shaded cleavage where none really exists.

Thanks to Eloh and her collection of Another Skin PSDs, I've been able to make my own collection of skins for each size of avatar I am for the moment. Bikini or not, I have little to fear of unwanted shadows. =^-^=

I'm usually jumping in the water over at AKK after a horse ride a lot of times. Swimsuits are another fun thing to search for. Trying to keep it PG, I finally ended up with a suit from Action that had a pair of boardy shorts with it.

From: Marianne McCann Much what Dilbert said.
On the plus side, you weren't booted from the Main Grid. They can sometimes be "twitchy" about teen RP. :-/
Perhaps try some of the malls or modeling?
Mari (Who, many moons ago, actually had looked into teen RPing in SL, but found it to be a very lonely world) I have a group member that frequents a very popular location, sort of a reform school, and one of their tags clearly implies (or maybe says, no way of checking right now) that the girl is jail bait. Now, by my definition, that is an automatic "under 18, under age", but the group is huge and the tags make it clear that sex is pretty much a given. What gives there?

From: Marianne McCann Dunno. Maybe it hasn't been ARed yet? :-/ Well, maybe, but I'm was on-line and joined (briefly), and it has just under 2000 members and one tag that says '... jailbait'. Now, I don't really care because I'm guessing everyone is over 18 just RPing, but it does seem to be a bit inconsistent in the enforcement area - some people getting banned on vague accusations of age play, but another which seems to be almost a SL institution for sex games RP flying under the radar with this tag? Just wondering. Not trying to get anyone AR'd or anything (the reason for the ellipsis, so LL would have to at least work a bit to follow up if they actually read this).

From: Yumi Murakami You pretty much _can't_ play a teen in SL. There just isn't enough scope to make a character that looks 14-15, but not 18 and not 12 - at least, I've never seen it managed. On the original topic - you mustn't claim to be a child in your profile, although you can say that you role-play one. It's very possible to make a 14-15 year old boy avatar. I used to play one for about a year and he's unmistakeably in his mid teens. It's a combination of a good "clean shaven" skin, a slim and slightly short (although that's only in SL terms, he's actually 6ft) and a good teen looking hair. I used Nora skin and a very nice hair from Lash - unfortunately both these products are discontinued, but there are alternatives.

i ask because i'm always interested in checking out kid/teen skins to see how they compare to the makeup-less adult skins i'm currently using. I've pretty much kept them completely personal... As well as my shapes. The faces aren't too far removed from the Re makeup-free face. Reducing/removing the chest shaders was pretty much a half hour effort of filtering through some of the more funky layer names Eloh used. The main reason I keep them personal is because I duplicated a beauty mark on my lower back that really ices the cake for me as being my "me". (^_^) You can find pikkies of me scattered all over the forum, on my Snapzilla page, and a bit more here: http://profile.imageshack.us/user/immysideways (^_^) While I I'm making all effort to avoid asserting an age anymore, I still generally say that my tall shape is made with the goal of being as "18" in appearance as possible. (^_^)y

Jailbait can both be a youthful looking 20-something or a physically matured teen. Either one could get a guy in to some mighty big trouble. There are times when I float a "SL Jailbait" tag over my head myself. It's good for a laugh. (^_^) It reminds me of a comedian talking about the "To Catch A Predator" Dateline series. "What about that actress that always plays part of the kid in the house? She's over eighteen and all, posing as a fourteen year old. Can you imagine the role play potential her boyfriend has?"... or something of the sort. (^_^)y
