That's not to say group membership is safe--it is *not*--but not for reasons of tier. If you don't trust a group with your entire account balance, do not join it! (Enough said.)

What do you mean enough said? What Are you talking about? I can only think he means group liabilities. I can't think of any other way a group can get at your finances. |

What do you mean enough said? What Are you talking about? You're probably going to have to stick some more coins in him to find out. _____________________

I can only think he means group liabilities. I can't think of any other way a group can get at your finances. But group liabailities are limited to 30L per parcel , divided by all the Group members. Arent they? |

Well not all the members need to be liable but yeah it would mean the group would have to hold a shed load of land for it to be a noticeable kick in the teeth. I can't think of any other issues with groups. Unless it's selling your items off or something. |

A few ways this could have happened.
1) That 1024m parcel was unconnected geographically, but part of, a much larger area somewhere within the same sim. 2) You were on a private island, and, a) had rented a lot of land, and deeded it (or had it deeded by the estate owner) to a group, AND, b) someone in the group mistakenly checked the checky box that causes you to pay Company tier in addition to whatever you were rightfully paying the estate owner. Which is double billing, highly inappropriate, and if nobody knows any better the Company gets a free lunch off that one. 3) You donated tier to a group for group land in significant amounts. 4) There's some new bug I don't know about. I'd get right on this, because I doubt it went up to 75 USD/mo without someone or something triggering it to go up that high, accidentally, via a bug, or who-knows-how. Good luck sorting it. _____________________

(Can a group owned object pay out money?) |

But thats not the same thing as them being able to drain your account. |

If a group owned object pays out money, where does that money come from? (Can a group owned object pay out money?) I asked this same question about 3-4 months ago. Group owned objects cant have debit permissions. |

Sorry for the alarm--I really didn't mean to be evasive, but I'm honestly not sure what group liabilities can be incurred. I used to get hit with group charges regularly from some perfectly innocent-seeming groups. So maybe those were just group-owned land listings that kept tapping my account. If group-owned objects can't take money from group members, and there aren't currently any other ways for groups to incur liabilities, then there's not a problem worth worrying about.
