blah...still closed

hmmmf....Set aside saturday morning to make a new line for our store..and its STILL closed Kinda worrying really , its been agesssss - wlel hmm..at LEAST 5 hours or so..

And it was so good last night, I was at Sanctuary Rock, which was packed with people, for 2 hours dancing and chatting - no crashes, everything properly rezzed - the lag did catch up with me eventually but everything seemed to be working so well..............

yup me too...i couldnt believe for about 7 hours it was all FAB!! Like the old old days (without the wednesday grid closures lol)

ho hum

i noticed sl was running pretty good aswell. knew the excrement was about to hit the rotary ventilator soon as i stopped constantly crashing and every tp went through without a problem. was behaving too well to beleive so of course something was bound to f........... go wrong

Dont worry too much.. we cant aovid some of the problems in uncontrolled environments..

[2.30 AM] Folks, it’s been a rough night so far and we apologise for the lack of service right now.

Like most network providers today, the ISPs who provide bandwidth for Second Life actually bundle many network links into large virtual links between their data centers. Traffic for many customers then flows across these bundles. Starting at approximately 19:30 PST, some of the special routing that handles aggregation of these bundles at the ISP level malfunctioned causing us severe packet loss of over 50% on the portion of traffic going to Linden Lab’s data centers. We had no option but to disable logins.

Since this is a highly unusual failure, it’s been complex and time consuming to diagnose. We are working with our network provider’s engineers towards a solution and will be back up just as soon as we can.

We should all know by now, once SL runs smoothly, it's only a matter of hours before it closes down for hours.

I don't really think you know how addicted you are until times like this.

Is anyone else huddled up in corner shaking and cursing linden labs or is that just me?

I've been one of the few left in-world and I just saw the first Online Notice.

Looks like logins are enabling again

And do we get some type of monetary rebate or compensation for all of these failures with the grid????? nooOOOooooo!!!!

Can you imagine if the tech support we have for SL was in charge of other applications such as banking or national defense?

Sorry for venting,,,, but in all of this time,,, they just can't seem to get a handle on improving the SL experience for us. Version after version is released to improve and or add more features, but the ongoing problems for transactions, TP's, freezing, crashes, ect. continue to plague us! And they know most of us will continue to hang in here with SL because it's not just a game for many of us. I know a large portion of the SL community have developed close friends and relationships so just canceling our accounts and leaving is not something we take lightly! The Lindens KNOW this. I can't help but feel that because of this knowledge, they really don't put the proper effort into maintaining the SL application as it should be.

This is really bad havent seen this much downtime for a very long time.

SL is allowing logins now!!

Saw the post about you lucky devils left inside the grid recieving online messages and log ins enabled. Pulled up SL and the grid was online! Got all the to regional handshake and was told there was no connection. Ok. Pulled up SL again only to find it says the grid is offline. Grrrr! Yet Dreamy just logged in and sees no one about, and it says I'm on some remote island. No, I'm not! I'm in here still waiting. Grrrr! Trying again.

They may be allowing logins, but is it safe for transactions, rezzing objects and such. I really don't want to loose more inventory!

1) NO movement

2) remain naked

3) Dont even look too fast at a prim attachment

4) stay calm...dont IM...cam around...or fiddle WITH ANYTHING

YES. It's been that way for a while. Maybe they want to discourage folks from logging in since it's still buggy. I'm fine, but my alts can't attach or TP anything.

Oh, and as far as that whole "your clothing is still downloading, but others can see you normally" business goes, it's not true.

does it make a difference if its your alt account? Im using my alt account and have shopped..and unpacked stuff...then crashed and cant get back in

I'm payment info on file, maybe they have stopped NPIOF accounts?
