I think our sim is haunted.
I have been trying to build all evening and prims have been moving, resizing, and readjusting their textures by themselves. It can get pretty creepy, not counting extremely frustrating to be adjusting a texture to perfection, then watching the numbers change by themselves. I set it to 5 repeats then watch it go to 4.3, 6.7, 4.9, 4,8, 2.3, then stop at some other random value. The same effect happens with positioning and sizing objects.
I suspected it was packets of data getting corrupted, but I even brought other people to watch and they saw the exact same movements at the same times I did. Textures changing, readjusting. Even entire objects moving around by themselves.
It can almost be entertaining, if it didn't halt all work when it happens. One time I was adjusting the texture, and it kept adjusting back. After I did this about 6 or 8 times the prim just suddenly turned 45 degrees and the problem stopped. I must have annoyed the ghost...
The effect almost acts like my editing data is getting mixed up with someone elses. Has anyone else experienced this before?
Before you ask, no one else has rights to modify anything I own, and I have been building in here for almost a year so I am certain it is not just a setting.
If I could get it to happen on command, I could always sell tickets... /me grins

I have given up building tonight. Similar things happening to me. Also with permissions/owners. One moment I can't see owners/modify - next minute all is right. And this is just going from tab to tab in edit!

Why does the title of the Police's last album come to mind?

There is no bug resolution To our troubled rezzolution Have no faith in Linden institution There is no workaround solution
We are laggy in the virtual world Are laggy in the virtual world Are laggy in the virtual world Are laggy in the virtual world
Our so-called Lindens speak With words they try to fool you They subjugate the newb But it's an asset server failure
We are laggy in the virtual world Are laggy in the virtual world Are laggy in the virtual world Are laggy in the virtual world
Where does the answer lie? Support tickets take 12 days Live help went bye bye There must be another way
We are laggy in the virtual world Are laggy in the virtual world Are laggy in the virtual world Are laggy in the virtual world

Had the same problem myself several times last week... exactly the same problem with texture repeats. Actually shelved what I was doing in frustration... but I did notice, at least for me, it was associated with packet loss (it seemed to be at its worst when the red bar packet loss monster reared its ugly head).

Or else the Cologne Cathedral. When you find the Exorcist send him over to Colette's mailbox to exorcise all her messages.

Mari I bet the poster meant the album, 'Ghost in the Machine'. I almost took that as the thread title. I had the same effect this morning for a while, but it stopped after 30 minutes or so. I did have the sim restarted a few hours before the problems last night. Just now, I was in my skybox and noticed some prims I had placed while building it last week were out of line, then realized that several chairs, and decorations, that had been there for days were missing. I now seem to have kleptomaniac poltergeists.

The Right and Righteous Reverend Trout Recreant, esq. at your service. Exorcisms and marriages performed while you wait. Religious artifacts of all shapes and sizes on sale now. This week's special: Saint Strife of Onizuka's prim toenail clippings. Guaranteed to ward of vampires, zombies, trolls and door-to-door vacuum cleaner salespeople.
Mention this thread and get two exorcisms for the price of three. Hurry, Hurry, Hurry! Operators standing by to convert you to the religion of your choice. That's right, folks, we're multidenominational. Judiasm, Hindu, Christianity in all its forms and Islam. Not to mention some of the fringe religions like that one David Koresh had before that mess with ATF&E.
Now, let's talk turkey while the goose is hot and the hay is being made. You'll need my services at $500L, a bottle of holy water or vodka - $200L, a brain in a jar (complimentary), a cross (as long as the ghost is of the Christian variety) at 200L and some miscellaneous expenses (silver bullets, wooden stakes, an escort). Let's round it up to an even $1,000L and call it good. The fee is nonrefundable and no results are guaranteed, but I'll give it my best shot.
Praise the Lord and pass the ammo!! When do I start?

Don't pay too much for those exorcisms, they probably won't mean much until blessed by Linden Lab's. Sounds like the SL Bugs we have been struggling with for years, makes it really frustrating to build sometimes. Its a bigger problem in laggy sims.

But if thats what Trout's into - thats cool. Who are we to judge? She's not for me - she's for the ghost. The Right and Righteous Reverend Trout Recreant, esq. takes no stock in pleasures of the flesh unless they're given as tithes to the Great and Magnificent Church of The Holy Income Producing Religion of Your Choice (all those with money welcome). Nope. The R&R Rev. TR, esq. prefers bourbon and gambling to paying for SLex. He gets his escorts gratis, in exchange for the occasional baptism and biplane ride. (bilbo - good catch. There was an "F" missing. Funny, when I was in school, my report cards never had missing F's)

From: Victorria Paine Is photography included in the price? Any good dial-a-minister doubles as a photographer as well .... The right and Righteous Reverend Trout Recreant, esq. offers a number of portrait packeage options, all taken by either him, the escort, or his lovely assistant whom he bought off of a Gorean pirate ship. Packages begin at $300L. Feel free to pick any pose you want, with or without the ghost. I'm also taking kickba....I mean able to provide you with a referral to a fine caterer, so feel free to invite your friends and make the exorcism a dinner party.
