There are quite a lot of buildings that would benefit from being in the path of a tornado:D

Have it rain just outside the window...a moving texture on a mostly-transparent prim, or a particle effect.

This would be like the "diorama" windows featured in some houses, like my skybox. A RL scene is textured on prims located a couple of meters from the window, so you can see a parallax effect...the window frame moves with respect to the exterior scene as your point of view changes.

Trouble is my landlord is doing such a sh!thot job of working the virtual, virtual horizon around my joint, it would be a shame to obscure it totally. In the meantime I've gone down the road of painstakingly trickling an alpha channel into a rainy windowpane texture. (I sometimes wish a charitable griefer would come along and beat me unconscious with a blunt prim.)

Seriously, I'm sure weather will come one day but I tend to think we are at a corollary of the silver screen movie era: one day all of the wonderful ambience of RL will be at our disposal to bend and shape in the SL environment - and we will take it for granted just like we do at the movies.

/me nods thoughtfully in the affirmative, taps cane on shoe and wanders off into the distance. (fade to black)

I loved the weather.. I only remember noticing it on help island. Maybe by the time I came that is the only place they had it. It was fun to be caught in a rain shower there and to have windy times come up.

I got a grade 'A' A-level on the strength of my painting of Charlie Chaplin sitting cross-legged in a graveyard, looking rueful. I think it's still hanging in my old school.

The weather is the only really constant factor in SL.

You cannot count on anything else (low lag, asset servers, region servers, etc.) and now you wanna take away the nice weather as well?

Here here..... I live in Ireland and em...no sun here of any description really... I think I only log onto SL to try to feel what nice weather might eh..feel like... This might be taking realism a bit too seriously... :D

I kinda can feel the SL weather... I'd love to see more of it. We don't get much snow in Australia, so it was awesome when everyone had their snow out for the Nth winter.

Bring back First Look 57575's reflections?

Ironically, this was turned off because of resource costs... but the requirements for reflections in 2007 were less than is required for full Windlight now... let alone shadows.

Shouldn't be a problem to add it back in then, people can always turn it off :)
