The building looks good...I think you definitely extended politeness beyond what most people would have. I've been in similar situations and have decided when I am building that I don't have visitors over. Building is a solo job for me now.

Madhu you Cafe is lovely I can't ever imagine why someone would want to change it unless you personally wanted to do something with it.
Storm I am working on my version the image with my kitty self pooping in background is some of building ideas friends came up based on the photo. I didn't like my first attempt with triangular shaped towers so I am start over. I am not going to paint it exactly, mine will have some typing of climbing flowers. _____________________

i don't let others around me when i am building or shopping.those are my times..well maybe a couple of people i will but they are used to me being silent when i am doing something..
i can handle good advice or creative criticism but not while i am working because i'm not done yet.. things are going to change a lot from where i start on things.. you were a lot nicer than i would have been.. i would have probably said something like..backseat driver says what?? creating is a time to escape and relax..the last thing i want is someone giving me a headache.. _____________________

Yeah I don't multi-task well. I get overwhelmed really really easily I'm the same way, FD. I focus completely on whatever I am doing and can't even have background music on if I am reading (or building, etc.). It is a wonderful trait in many ways - ie. I have an almost photographic memory of things I have read or heard. Although people see me as very social in a group setting, a little "group" goes a long way with me and I can't wait to head back to my quiet home with either just my partner or, at most, a couple of good friends. I'm an only child and long ago learned to cherish solitude. Ok, back on track here (I also tend to have "stream-of-consciousness" thinking...lol). I agree with Qie - in addition to that jerk being annoying I think he was trying a ploy to get your land. I admire your patience...he would have been muted/kicked/banned very quickly by me. **Still want to get a shirt that says MUTE THE WORLD** ![]() _____________________

Well said. It's why I tend to build in a provate workshop. I can work at my pace, try things, redo them, and generally create in a free-form environment. Two other people and a couple trusted friends have access to the workshop: each of these people know not to start 'backseat building.' Mari _____________________

(take for example a recent creation of mine, some folks would say it is nice, others would say it sucks and then others would say change this change that, but will I change or remove it because of those who feel that way?... nope) oh and this is the creation I am speaking of ![]() I love it, Rhaorth! lol@ sidewalk superintendents.
that and the ones you keep giving you items you dont want, or need, and keep inviting you to groups without asking.. oh wait, this isnt a place to rant ![]() re: building, at first one also told me not to build an art gallery or jazz bar, but to build a mall and rentals instead.. they wouldnt listen to what I wanted to do for fun, and not here to make money.. and now that the gallery and jazz bar are keeping me happy and being somewhat successful, id like to invite them back for a quick swift kick to the junk ![]() |

I like constructive criticism, because I can learn from it. i prefer it done after the project is close to done itself, rather than right at the beginning point.
I don't like idiotic spewing of garbage when I'm focused on a skirt that is hating every change I make to it. That's why the workshop off the shop is set to group entry only. I, my alt, and my husband are the only ones that can enter it. I don't mind people IMing me with issues while I'm working on thing, but I do NOT want them just waltzing in and getting between my camera and project. Don't know if what I typed made sense.. I'm kinda suffering from a monthly migraine and am trying to entertain myself without a lot of flashing lights ![]() _____________________

I added roses on trellises last night. It does need them, doesn't it? Yeah ivy around poles would be nice too or some fancy carved doodles. Mine will have doodled feel. I think I figured out also a technique for evergreens just not sure how to do bush low prim 3 d like on sculpty....but I have been wondering if there is away to texture other shaped prims that aren't flat and textured as low prim 3d plants so far my Nastrium bush on sphere experiment failed. _____________________

FD you are the most politest and easy going person I have ever had the fortune to meet in SL.
Your patience went above and beyond whats required in everyday life when confronted by someone obviously out to intimidate. I doubt you will have anymore problems with this idiot ... but if you do I can give you the name of a lady ( in IM or in world ) that will set his world on fire. Trust me I have no whiskers and my fur will take months to regrow. ( not to mention the multiple fractures to my tail and nose) Keep at it dude .. you are an awesome builder . don't give up. Regards. _____________________

I am sorry you're in pain. Yes it made sense. I enjoy building and stuff with my closest fiends. it been very helpful to share ideas, skills but this not for anything it just for fun. I think what made me more cranky about it all or when I get cranky building with others is is I am also dealing with some illness and pain issues myself which is a whole of the time these days. _____________________

My advice:
Build a work platform. Sit on it. Move it up 2000m. There's blessed silence & solitude at that height. ![]() I will never ever ever work on the ground again. ![]() _____________________

FD, I really enjoy the pictures you post. Your building is nice, and I'd like to see it when you think it's finished.
I have absolutely NO graphics experience, and am learning to build and design. The results are usually bizarre, frequently ugly, and so far not to my liking. But in the course of deforming prims and fitting ugly plaid or striped textures on them to see what's happening to the surfaces, and in shrinking, expanding and moving crap around, I learn a great deal. Sure it's ugly while I'm working on it. And I'm not fast. But this is how I learn. If I stop making mistakes, I stop learning how to get it right. Your work is pleasant and interesting. Don't take any crap. If this guy comes back again, tell him I'll make him watch me torture a pink plaid megaprim for an hour and a half. That'll fix him! ![]() |

That makes it harder to see exactly what is getting deformed where. Just a hint (not a know it all just someone thats been where you are) |

Senga, I am learning too just been learning probably bit longer then you.
I think what annoyed me most about the situation is I am perfectionist often incredibly critical of my own creations. I notice also this with few of my friends that I talk to on regular basis who I think are absolutely talented often are also learning Some of the most gifted and talented friends I have are incredibly hard on themselves too with what they make which often me want to some how convince them how good they truly are but like me they are constantly seeing the flaws, tearing a part how bad something they made in fun. Then add new comer to my little circle of friends who knows all, criticizes everything and gets really nutty about it and it just seems just bit tad too much..... I guess these has definitely been educational experience even though I got quite upset. I guess anyone who spends as much time as I do seriously creating even for fun would get irked because we are more then just pixels. Anyway I have been doodling Muting the World top and bottom clothing experiment for last few hours and I am going in world to test it. As Thank you gift to whomever wants to test or get free gift look me up in world and I send you a gift. Thanks again. _____________________

....but I have been wondering if there is away to texture other shaped prims that aren't flat and textured as low prim 3d plants so far my Nastrium bush on sphere experiment failed. I've made one prim mannequins and put them on a cylinder instead of a box to make them a little 3D... Maybe use an alpha texture for the plants, hollow the shape, and have the alpha texture on the inside too? Might look good on a flexi cylinder. I might have to try it tonight. ![]() |

Thanks for the advice. Now I know there's at least one other person who understands why a prim might want to wear gingham. Hmm. Gingham. Have to get some ruby slippers. Awesome idea! I never thought about it- I have been randomly twisting and pulling things to see how the changed and it had never occurred to me to texture it first - duh! _____________________
