Am I the only one experiencing major lag everywhere I go today?
Even places that are usually low lag seem to be causing me trouble. If anyone sees me about can you sling me a rope and try and pull me out of this syrup I seem to be wading through? cheers.
Lol but really, is it just me or are others having a slow day aswell?

I've been having that problem, too. And constant freezing while panning my camera around. Wall boxes in stores take forever to turn from gray, and my feet are sinking into the floors quite a lot.
It's been very bad, lately. Even in my skybox where I rarely experience lag.

Yeah I seem to be sinking a lot aswel.. and dissapearing into walls.
Any ideas why it's happening?
I hope it's only temporary - I can't shop in these conditions!

I love flying in empty sims with interesting terrain. So the new un-auctioned Corsica has some great low-flying ground.
Any lag is down to the network, and not to anything in the empty sims.
Sim-crossings! It's been so long (months) since I last had a hair-and-boots-in bum thing. Last night ..... two of them. I've also had a few of those flying way off/across the map trips.
With that sort of network lag, it must be hell in a sim that is laggy to begin with.

not so much lag with me, but I've ended up in some very strange positions after TP'g somewhere. The day before yesterday, I'd been 'ghosted' and I couldn't get in to SL because according to the system, I was already online.....very strange.
After looking for land yesterday, tp'g here and there, I'd end up actually bent over backwards, and not in a good way I might add....lol
I've ended up with my head stuck in walls and completely underground with only the tip of my head peeking through.
Curiouser and curiouser......

Me, too, last 2 weeks. I've never had much problems with lag, but lately, the rainbow wheel of death replaces my cursor more and more. Always at the most inappropriate moments. Up to now, I think I've been spoiled. Wall boxes in shops would always appear almost instantly. Now, takes forever. Ok, not forever, but much longer than before - a minute? I'm so impatient!
What has changed?

What has changed? I don't know...but something has. Now, I am running on a PC that is only a little above the required specs for graphics card and only just meeting the specs for memory. However, I never had the problems I've been having lately. The worst is when you start walking, and can't stop, then all of a sudden the camera and your avie "snap back into place", basically. Or is that just me?

Or is that just me? Nope, me too. A few times a log... Also, recently, my view (what I see on my screen) just goes off on its own. Not sure how to explain it, or if it has to do with lag, but it's very strange. At first I thought someone had bumped me or something, but it happens when I'm alone. My 'view' just kind of moves by itself, cams if you like, a bit to the left or right. Never happened before, only recently...

There's clearly only one reasonable explanation for all of this upset.
SL has been possessed by a lag monster that's currently rampaging around town shaking everyone up. Clearly.

It seems like I'm lucky if I can make one TP jump without all my attachments falling off. I've almost become used to TP/relog everytime.

Seriously, I wonder if the server updates and the upgrades of many sims to Havok 4 are causing this...

Lol but really, is it just me or are others having a slow day aswell? Me to, but I think I've found the reason... LL "fixed" SL again today: From the blog: Second Life Server Software Updates (1.19.1) Over the next several days we’ll be updating the servers comprising Second Life to our “1.19.1″ version of the server code. Here’s our tentative schedule for the update: Tuesday PM: Update “central” system - [COMPLETE] Wednesday AM: Rolling restart of ~150 regions - [COMPLETE] Thursday AM: Rolling restart of ~1500 regions Thursday PM: Rolling restart of the rest of the grid Gomez

I am SO glad to see this thread - I thought it was just me.
I've even got a new cpu that exceeds the suggested requirements to run SL so I've been like, WTF?
I've been on the phone with my cable service tearing them a new one too.
I have been able to get rid of the attachments up my bum problem though by using the Nicholaz viewer, but the lag is ridiculous. I am so tired of trying to take a tiny little flight and ending up floating off the dang sim into the great nothingness. *SIGH*

From: The Blog Approximately 500 regions have been failing to save their state since roughly 3 a.m. PST this morning. This means any changes made to land and content have not been stored.
Below the cut is a list of the affected regions.
If you have built or placed objects into these regions today, please retrieve your work to inventory as soon as possible.
We’re about to begin shouts into these regions every few minutes, warning all residents and guests to desist from building, rezzing and further parcel transactions until we’re ready to trigger a 7PM PST rollback.* From: Jayden B Are there 521 regions by any chance? Quickly counts… Yep!
/From another blog entry: Server version 1.19.1.80264 has been rolled to 521 regions./ From: Angelina Sinclair Wait land sales revert in rollbacks?? What about the lindens you wasted in buying that land, does it revert too? Seems the rollout has a few problems...

Lol but really, is it just me or are others having a slow day aswell? Not just today but for the past several days. I drop into Io to use the SLEx cash machine there from time to time, I teleport about ten feet from the machine but recently it's been taking me an age just to walk over to it (usually I miss it completely, walk out the door and continue into the nearby river). Not just Io but practically every mainland sim seems to be grinding to a halt. Have you noticed also that the map takes forever to form, usually shrouded in blue.

Same here, it's been really bad the last two days. I've rechecked and diagnosed by connection a dozen times and everything is working as normal; but within SL there is consistent packet loss of over 10% - even very simple things like moving around and typing in general chat become lagged down to the point of being impossible. It's really frustrating - I'm thinking of just giving up for this entire week and trying again in March.

One guess is that this might be why SL is in the middle of moving regions to new addresses, perhaps one of their networks is maxed out.

Over the past 2 weeks I have gotten a lot of lag and frezing. Twice, that has been followed by a trip to a really creepy blue void where my AV is folded in half--obviousely crashed. It crashes my cable modem too and I have to restart everything. Wonder what this is and when it will end!?!

From: Lindal Kidd Seriously, I wonder if the server updates and the upgrades of many sims to Havok 4 are causing this... That's EXACTLY what I was thinking. One of my worst lag-freeze nights was on Laural Arts Isle--where I happen to KNOW they are testing Havok 4. But many other places are not as conspicuous about the testing, so I don't know if these problems are happening only on test-participating sims. But the testing COULD be having an effect all over. Maybe.
