i keep my friends list VERY short, and it mainly consists of 'other world' people I associate with outside of SL.

i do have a few new SL friends, but sadly we don't get to hook up very much. i really need to be inworld more but my schedule doesn't allow it right now.

hard to make, and keep, friends when you don't communicate with them much. :(

My friends list is now about 90% Americans, which surprised me a tad but has given me endless reassurance that when I look at that idiot in the White House he in no way represents a vast swathe of Americans. My next task is to make sure they all vote next time; apathetic fools that they are.

Secondly, what I've discovered with my very close friends is that we are all in jobs where we wouldn't want our SL addiction/participation know by our work colleagues. Therefore, we have in time built up very trusting relationships where we can every now and then let rip and vent our work related annoyances and have an understanding patient ear to listen.

To all my friends who may spot this post. I love ya all and value you even if I haven't called in a while. :)

Your above Comments are refreshing, and I agree with them completely. (I am an American.) Too many Americans are apathetic and don't take the time to weigh the issues completely and simply vote. If all of us do not get involved before and during this coming election, we could end-up with another idiot in the White House.

QFT! This is such a pet peeve of mine! I have a work mate who is republican...mostly because her husband tells her she is. She has no clue about the issues, or even any real idea on how bad off the country is right now. She'll just blindly vote republican because her husband does. Soooo not what voting is about. (I'm working on her, though, to vote on the issues, not necessarily due to her registered party)
As for friends, I just don't have many on my friends list. I wish I had more time in SL, I think my time correlates to the number of friends I have. But most of my inworld time is spent with my RL husband/SL partner modeling for his store pics. Or shopping...I do a LOT of that, and also have my own little resell store, and am making my own designs for in that. Not nearly enough time for socializing, unfortunately. :(

Voting nowdays is pretty much like choosing between Coke and Pepsi. Sure they have different names, but they are the same damn thing.

Most of the friend’s on my lists are women from every part of the world, who seem to have several things in common; they love to have fun, and are great to be around. Diverse is an understatement...some are angels, others are devils. Some are aliens, others are human, and others are furies (mmmm so warm and cuddly) others still, are robots. Because I am a sexually active guy both in SL & in RL, I don’t have a SL partner (or drama) anymore. I enjoy meeting new women and listening to what their needs, desires, and fantasies are; what happens after that is usually up to them. They have taught me one thing, to be honest without fear, to express my true self, and my true desires. I am not a hopeless romantic, but a helpless one; I see SL as a sort of Hotel California where I can check out any time I like, but I just can’t ever leave...the irresistible magnet keeps drawing me. It’s almost too hard to not meet lusty women, they seem to be everywhere. The other night I was up until 5AM; everywhere I went I kept bumping into gorgeous creatures that were looking for a good time, three of them wound up with me that night. It looks like I'm fast becoming a sexual deviant too..... Would it be too much trouble for me to ask for professional help, or should I just give in to fate???

My, aren't we full of ourselves.

What I am surprised about honestly is how many of my friends lead a BDSM lifestyle in SL. I mean.. sure the ones I meet at CARP and Bondage Ranch make sense, but like.. before that, before I knew about those places, just wandering around meeting new people and making friends I apparently got to know a lot of Dom/mes and submissives.. definitely the majority of my friends I'd say...

But I love all of my friends =P

I am RL BDSM and it has been said to me that in RL one in eight people has some interest in BDSM in some form or another (there are many many forms).

Next time you are in a restaurant, coffee shop, your local library or supermarket, or any place where there are lots of people, look around you and think about that. One in Eight.

The reason this is a surprise to some people (if its true) is that its still not acceptable to talk about it in RL or have it known. SL (and other online communities) are just places we can be open about it, because of the anonymity.

Yep. It doesn't surprise me at all , a lot of us are doing things here that we can't or won't do in RL. That's part of the charm of this place.

I am creative loner.
I have few very nice friends who are very helpful and kind to me.
The rest who end up on my friend list often find themself off of my friend list except few because I never hear from them or whatever is going on in my own life and there's makes it difficult to connect.
I am not here for sex or roleplaying personally and what I share about myself is the truth but I have friends I know who don't share rl information that is ok.
I try to keep my friend list low it just makes things easier very few remain there for long except small chosen group.

Heathen (more sugar, more caffiene, more acid, coke for the win)

seriously, what's so hard about voting?
you look at the people avaialable, you pick the one that seems to have the skills, record, and direction to get the job done, and poof, your part is done.

Though I'm liking the French more everyday now... there's folk who KNOW how to remove idiots from office =) ::shing::
