I was wondering how to get a picture of a ruth but since I am coming up normal now I can't just make myself ruth. I noticed a bot in the corner of the ocean sim I was in and flew over to it. Sure enough the bot is ruthed. Note the hair and shape of the bot.

I've said it before. Ruth could be cute. It's only in SL terms that she is unattractive, the newbness of her, the freaky textureless hair. But at least she's no anorexic barbie doll.

She could even be -- a shy librarian, bored with the droll life of card catalogues and overdue fines, needing only the right man to rescue her, show her new wonders that life can offer, and set free the chained inner passions . . .

trouble is, it doesn't look like ruth on me, it looks more like ruth and elton john's runt child.

Gahh! My eyes! Make it stop!!

I was ruthed this weekend for the first time in ages; at least for the first time it wouldn't undo itself quickly. Just my shape, skin hair and clothes were fine. Properly dressed & skinned, she doesn't look at all bad. I bet some folks wouldn't even have recognised her. I can't say I was overjoyed with the face shape, and her head looks slightly too big for her body (true for several Linden avs, although a lot of folk go too far the other way). Because my mesh hair is textured as transparent, I didn't even have the ginger helmet sticking through my prim hair.

It's quite true Ruth's perceived ugliness is only in comparison to the plastic perfection of a lot of other SL avatars. With the right skin and outfit, she might even make it as a borderline hottie. Anyone fancy a "Make Ruth Cute" competition or party?
