When did they ban banana's?

And if they did, is there a right of apeel?

Yup its a violation of the rules and as such AR-able.
see below for a few parts of the blog posting.

Here is a section from the blog post on the new advertising rules......

I have a friend who had success getting a neighbor to change sale signs by just passing them a note with copy of new advertisment regulations and link to the blog post concerning it. Signs fix next day- no more huge, high, spinning signs.

Do consider that many, many people in world do not read this forum or other SL blogs or notices and may simply be unaware.

And, don't forget this part...

**********************************************
* We will allow no more than 50 advertising locations owned by a single individual, whether personally owned or via groups in which you are a member, unless you have written permission from Linden Lab to exceed this limit.Use of Alt accounts/groups to circumvent this restriction will be considered a violation.

* In addition to the cap, we will allow no more than 1 advertising placement by an individual in any single region.
*************************************************

However, I have tested this by filing an AR on a massive sea of for sale signs that just cropped up near me and, after 3 days, they are all still there.

So much for the...

I was looking round at land for sale and what still surprises me is just how ugly and clumsily made some legitimate builds are.

Like a store I saw that was hovering about 5 metres above the gound and made of ill-fitting panels, mostly of standard plywood texture but coloured green except one or two that were other colours. The panels fitted very badly and there was a lot fo texture flicker too where panels overlapped.

Not everyone can be a brilliant builder, but I just can't believe how bad some builds are. The first thing I ever made in SL was a little shed. Looking at a snapshot of it now, it's better than some of these eyesores!

Okay, I have no problem with "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" or "one av's trash, another av's treasure".

But what do you think, is this just an awfully ugly way to advertise land for sale?

ohmigosh, some avatar is blocking the view of those lovely for sale signs!! :D
