How many ASSHATS do you deal with?

You know, I got this IM about an hour ago, and Im just dumbfounded why someone would be so rude! Most all my items get deliverd to the customers, and if they dont, the customer usually sends me a note saying they havent recieved it yet, and I gladly resend to them. It happens, it's SL, right? Well then i get this crap!

So I suppose my question is, do you ever get asshats like this? And what do you do? I really feel like pushing this person in a bloody mud puddle! She didnt even give me a chance to respond without attacking! sighs..sorry..im just really POed right now!

Add them to your ignore list and forget about them but before doing so send them a couple hundred standard cubes.

Check your transaction log. Did the asshat pay you? If so, then you should treat said asshat like a customer, and if it's kosher with your permissions choices on the product sold, give him/her/it the item he/she/it ostensibly purchased.

Then you should suck up your pride, and apologize to said asshat on behalf of whatever piece of Second Life which didn't perform as expected, and remind the shithead that.. well.. shit happens.

Get the business out of the way first. Make sure the asshat has what he paid for. Then proceed to push him into the mud. Unless there's a pig farm nearby, in which case, push him into the deepest pile of pig shit you can find.

Meh, I see no reason she should go out of her way to help someone who can't even be civil.

I feel for you. I actually had the opposite problem. Some vendors I have, weren't delivering and only a handful of people IM'd me. The rest (about 70%), either didn't notice or never said anything to me. I think they were more shocked when I contacted them, asking if they'd received anything.

I do. He paid her. Either refund the money, or give a replacement copy of the purchased item. Customers can be shitheads. It's part of doing business. Take the high road.

I love 99% of my customers too, they are usually fantastic people and I even give them a freebie sometimes for their trouble..i really do try to have good customer service..but I didnt even get to respond to this..i just checked my email and found that! I could see it if i ignored her but hell I havent had a chance to even send her stuff.

I don't care...paying for an item does not buy anyone the right to behave that way.

Honestly, its my first time to ever have anyone act this way..and Ive had the store for over 2 years. I guess thats why it was a shock, plus the fact that Im a niave idiot sometimes and believe theres good people everywhere..lol The majority of people Ive dealt with on SL really are polite and great to deal with. Maybe I just dont get out of my sim much.

To be blunt, customers pay up front without any guarantee as to the product or delivery. That is just a fact of SL. So there is a plausible expectancy on part of the customer, and some are let down. Nonetheless, no one has an excuse to act this rudely in such a knee jerk manner. I would make good on the business aspect, she did keep up her part of the transaction. If the mood turns pleasant then I would have gained a satisfied customer. If the mood still remains adversarial, then I would ask them to never shop with me again, tell them what I think of their behavior, and politely tell them goodbye as I muted and banned them.

I would be sorely tempted to refund and say the pennies are not worth the abuse, along with a reminder that SL doesn't always work right.

AH, such is the fun of being a "store owner".

I also get a few where they want it free or just the textures.

A part of me says to get them their product and a part of me says to keep their money to teach them a lesson.

It's not about the asshat. It's about you.

If you're a good guy, do what the good guys do. If you're a bad guy, do what the bad guys do.

At the end, you're going to log off and be in your own space. The asshat won't be there.

Which path is going to make it more comfortable to be in your own company?

Revenge and comeuppance have their places, but they require a significant investment in time and energy. Random asshats generally aren't worth it.

I know, huh?? Im tempted myself..but I know it wouldnt be the right thing to do..I will give her her products, she did pay for them..but FFS, what a biotch!~ I just wish I could do something non harmful to her, like the mud puddle, or..put itching powder in the skirt I sold her, or make her clothes disappear when she was in the middle of a club or turn her face hideously ugly, maybe make her teeth black..sighs..oh god..i want the power!!!

people that go off like that, so easily, are usually extremely unhappy in RL already. i don't think you need to exact any other revenge other than the assumption that she is one of those miserable people who hates her own life.
