The problem is not the premium or no-premium is the grid stability, imagine if everyone goes premium??? do you really think that you could login? lololol it's a grid problem not a monetary issue

Free accounts should have very limited or no privileges compared to paid accounts. This business model that allows for all but land ownership between free accounts and premium accounts is totally stupid on the part of Linden. When you consider a full third of the logged in accounts are free alts and many of these are statistics bots, I am surprised some premium member hasnt sued Linden for Breach of Contract over limited access to paid members yet. My RL wife and I have been paid members for 2 years now and I for one will not support lindens land based economy again until they limit free account privileges well below current levels. All these problem will be a mute issue though once the Opensim Project is in Beta by the end of the 2008 or early 2009. But until then, if linden wants SL to stay a viable service they need to address this free account privilege issue or it will kill the game. |

I'm mad too! Finally I'm not alone anymore
You need to upgrade your accounts to ultra-premium, UP members get to login to the grid even when it's down altogether. UP members get an extra option in the right-click so they can boot out non-paying members whenever they like. UP members get to ride on the front of the bus with all the other UP members. UP members get to gather in special places and build big fires to burn all the players who are less fortunate than themselves and cannot afford to pay for membership. /me rollseyes |

Stop using the term racism in this discussion. It's just ridiculous. In RL, th word is overused as it is.

Free accounts should have very limited or no privileges compared to paid accounts. This business model that allows for all but land ownership between free accounts and premium accounts is totally stupid on the part of Linden. Why? Not everyone wants to own MAINLAND which is the only real benefit that that paid account gets (and support, needed to get back inventory loss). People who don't buy land do buy stuff in world! It would be interesting to see the statistics of the funds spent for both premium and non. Just because you're premium doesn't mean you don't build the economy. |

Of course, if you have two pies and one looks much nicer than the other then you might choose the good looking pie. But does that make the other pie any less valid in it's pieness?

No, but it does mean I am less likely to bring it into my home and that I will show preference for the one I do like. The right of free association is worthless if it does not also include the right to not associate. _____________________

I don't say Premium users. Gah, why does it have to freaking be premium? I'm premium and I think it should be based on order of payment info, Payment Info Used gets first dibs, then Payment Info On File and then No Payment Info On File. Actually, you know what? If the concurrency is at the level where SL starts acting up.. I'm not logging in. I'd rather not deal with a borked SL. I agree with this. Premium, non-premium - who cares. If you want to get bots off the grid, use payment info as a resource. The plus side? Premiums and people who aren't premium but have established a willingness to buy lindens and contribute to the economy get first priority. Why is that preferable? Well, I'm not premium, but trust me, you want me to be able to log in and come to your store. I have no reservations about buying stuff. SL is my entertainment, and I think of a night goofing off with my friends in SL the way I would a night in RL goofing off with my friends. What's a RL night out going to cost? $50? $70? If I spend half of that at 265L/$ that's a minimum of 6600L in the economy in the form of tips, purchases, whatever, and it could be more than 10k. I wish premiums would stop treating me like I'm a leech or some lesser form of life just because I'm not premium. My Visa bill pays your tier, so if you don't mind, I'd like to be able to log on. _____________________
