..it has somethign to do with quantum physics, the sapce/time continuim and burtn toast.

It depends who you're asking. I'm Conifer, I live in SL so I've more or less lost touch with RL anyway. I have vague recollections of a currency called pounds where I came from but not much else.

While it is gratifying that the majority would rather lose touch with SL; the fact that even one person said they would rather lose touch with real life chills me to the bone.

I love my SL.. entirely.. I would live it for real if I could. I don't particularly like my RL at this point.. and actually.. I kinda have lost touch with RL by now.

Anyway.. a lot of people have their 'fantasy life'. The life that they wish they could have, rather than the one they really lead. For me, my SL is THAT life. It is everything I wish my RL could be.. just not quite as pretty sometimes (Yes, sometimes.. where I live gets boring.. SL is more diverse). I'm happy in SL, more than I have been for some time in RL.

So I would rather keep it. Pretty simple really.. what alot of people wish, just that through SL, I have it in part.

This would make a good Discussion Event topic...

I don't even know how to take it "literally", maybe I'm just tired...I think I know a few people who have lost touch w/ RL for SL but they were all either sick and retired or just pretty much bed-ridden and in business in-world.

...as far as "losing touch" with SL...technically I don't know if you could really say that's what the person would be doing; do we "lose touch" with MySpace or YouTube? *shrugs*

There's a lot of ways to look at this question

Conan - it is not just chilling, it is really really really worrying. SL is great, but it is JUST a form of entertainment, incredible in scope, but compared to LIFE?

If you identify your life with your avatar's persona more than your real life being then you need psychotherapy and generally speaking, I would only ever recommend psychotherapy - professional help - as an absolute last resort.

If you spend more than twenty per cent of your waking hours on SL, and it is not a fully paid job, and you spend the time that you are not on SL mostly thinking about SL, you need help.
