pardon me for not appearing to be most ppl - perhaps you should learn to read properly then you would realise that I had done all of those things and the problem still hasn't resolved.

I read that, and I didn't believe it. The reason being I found the answer by going to http://support.secondlife.com/ and typing black avatar into the search box at the top of the page.

Yeah, and they provide an answer that doesn't even address the bug with palletized textures.

I don't care what you do or don't believe, the issue is that even with finding their solutions to the problem it's still not sorted.

I find it incredibly sad that you went to search for an answer to the problem just to come onto a forum and try to berate someone for not conforming to your standards without even knowing the facts. You have a seriously mean chip on your shoulder and I thank goodness that I am who I am and that most people in this world are not like you!

to everyone else I want to say thank you for offering me the further solutions that the websites and google's answers failed to answer. I am away from home at the moment and so will try these out on my return and I am sure that they will come up with a solution.

Take care and Merry Christmas :)

I'm sorry you feel the need to berate someone for letting them know where they can find information without waiting on other people, much less in the middle of the night on Christmas. You seem to demonstrate that those who fail at first life are likely to fail at second life as well.
