neat - thanks
Sure thing ^_^
You should also be able to just right click>edit it though and it should still highlight blue an yellow with yellow as the root. Never seen it where I simply couldn't determine the root prim at all.

A way to see if an object is returnable is to stand on your land next to the object. Then go to the Objects tab on the About Land dialog. Under "Primitives on parcel:" there's a listing for "Owned by others:". If the number is greater than zero, then the Show and Return buttons will be enabled. If you click the show button and the offending object highlights in white, then it's on your land and you can return it.
To return the object, you can just click the Return button. Or, just above the list at the bottom, the Refresh list button should be enabled. Click that to see the names of all the people who have objects on your land. You can then select a name. When you do, their objects will highlight in white and the Return objects button will enable. If you click that button, it will return only that person's objects. --Hugsy _____________________

Yeah, I could see which one was root prim, but without mod ability, I could not isolate it via the 'edit linked parts' or whatever it is called and therefore when it was buried inside of other parts, it was hard to tell the actual dimensions and therefore kind of hard to figure out where the 'center' of the root would be. Maybe that made some sort of sense. ![]() oohhh ok, yeah ^_^ Understood _____________________

To see where the root prim is centered, you can edit the object and look for the red/green/blue lines coming out of it. Where the blue line (which should go straight up & down) hits the ground is the parcel that the object is on. There's really no "how much of it..." here - where that blue line hits land is the only thing that matters. When I edit an object, the arrows do not line up with any particular prim in a linked set. For example, with a necklace, the origin is in the middle of the necklace, where there are no prims. |

Just curious, why have admin options on? Does it actually give you anything you can use? You can offer teleport to people who have "Don't show my online status to those who aren't my friend" turned on. I've never found any other benefit. |

I thought I would only see the positioning lines on an object if I have permission/ability to move it? Oh.. Right you are! It used to be that you could see them on objects you didn't own but they pulled that a while ago. They tell me that something is always the first to go but I'm having a hard time remembering what it is. I may add a JIRA asking that the Z axis get shown (forced to World view) for objects you don't own... _____________________

If I remember correctly, this option will also give you access the the Land Media tab... Also lets you fly in no-fly zones though people should take care in using that - if the owner doesn't want you to fly around in an area, you should probably respect that. |
