The map of the complete plan for Corsica is on public display in the inworld Linden Land Services foyer. Working out the number of sims to complete that is a no-brainer - but with a tiny bit of educated guesswork for the sims at the jaggy edges of the continent.
LL have blogged about the rate at which they intend to release sims to auction.

Someone could therefore have a budget to buy up most of it at near minimum bids. The person with the deepest pockets "wins". The smaller operators will run out of steam if they can't unload what they buy.

The end-game of such a master plan would be derailed by LL creating a new continent, joining/extending the existing ones, etc.
LL can do whatever they feel like doing in order to ensure that end-user average price is acceptable to their business plan. They have no duty towards the buyers other than keeping the sims running on the grid.
Somebody doesn't like that? Nobody is forcing them to buy.
JB would want to hold back some money to buy a big chunk of LL stock if possible, and ease off on buying sims.


The middlemen are only middlemen. They are a layer between the supply and the demand. It is LL who control the supply - and not the middlemen, who can only control what they have bought.

Yes, you would expect the red carpet treatment, and reasonable to expect it.

JB: "Phil? JB here. "2000 of my sims that I'm paying tier on are down. Get your own personal sweet ass over to ops and FIX IT!!!" (Pretty please)

Here's a scenario... maybe dude sim buyer is not planning on flipping the sims at all...

If I had tons of money and was addicted to SL as I am, I might try to buy a whole continent.

Imagine, what could you build with 30 million prims or so? a Disney land replica? Virtual hong kong? how about 720 hole golf course?

It must feel pretty awesome to sit in the middle of 2000 sims with a chick you are trying to impress and waving your arm , "It's all mine!"

What if the grillions of sims are for rental and paid or loss-leader services? - and not for resale?
Why go Premium?

The private estate renters make a play on "You don't have to be a Premium".
A Mainland renter could do the same.

What are the trends in population growth? Premium% v free%?

She said that they were going to name one of the new sims "Raymond Figtree", and another one "Sideways".

Figtree will have a lot of hot air blowing through and I'll bet Sideways is going to be steep granite land, where your objects will slide off and disappear.

Congrats to JB for passing the half million $$ mark in total amount invested in mainland sim purchases. That's US dollars, folks and not counting the dozen sims he's won since this info was posted on Melina Loonie's site. Wow.

i dont think it is a very wise business decision on lls part to have one person hold so much of the land market.

Hasn't the mysterious JB already sold 95% of all the sims he bought? It's not like he's hording them forever for nefarious purposes. I don't keep the stats anymore but last I checked he was only holding about 12 sims worth on hand.

It's got to be a lot more than that. He's bought a ton in the last month and only flipped a handfull.

I think Sling was refering to "Linden Estate Services" ... Search places or just map to the region by that name.

There is a large map of Corisca with red progress lines showing how much of it has been created so far.

There has been speculation that the mysterious JB is not a real person and is some sort of Linden in reality. I can confirm this to be false. He is a real guy and is no more a Linden than anyone posting on this thread... Just FYI. Take my words for what they are worth - I won't get into how I know this...
