Just wondering if anyone can tell me what the current wait time is for getting a new private island?

Back in March when I got my first one it was about 2 days, so now I'm all impatient :)

I made the purchase on Sunday but it's still stuck on 'processing'.

Thanks!

Thanks for the responses! I've got my fingers crossed for Friday... I'm so impatient, if I have to wait till next week I'll be all uptight. Maybe if I check on the land store status page every hour that will speed things up! :)

If that were true, Candyland would have been delivered to me within the same hour I had ordered it LMAO :)

November update
11-12-2007 12:06
This thread is from 2 months ago, so I'm wondering what wait times people are experiencing now?

I bought mine Saturday, and yes I refresh the Land Store page every hour too! (Okay, maybe it's more like every 15 minutes)

I guess I should have done this 2 months ago -- all the refreshes of the Land Store definately paid off, the sim I was asking about in September was delivered on the friday I was hoping for. Ordered on Sunday (late at night), delivered on Friday.

I don't know what the lead-time is at the moment though, sorry.

Atashi,

Mine took just slightly longer. Ordered it Saturday during the day, and got it over night the following Friday/Saturday, ready for playing with on Saturday morning. Needless to say, I haven't left the house much this weekend!

the group i belong to has ordered four void sims, i'd assume they have the same lead time, and were told 1 to 2 weeks for delivery

I was there to see when they added my 2nd sim. Not like I was standing on the border for 3 days waiting or anything. Honest.

First the water appeared on the minimap. Then the land rose up out of the water. We all tried to rush over immediately but bounced off the border, unable to access the region. There was a Linden in there in at the time. Then a few moments later then Linden vanished, and we all got in and started exploring. And then someone found the mystery cube, it was owned by the Linden who was in there.

If I'm not mistaken, the mystery cube is in fact a default telehub.

Land Use Fees
11-26-2007 11:31
I was just wondering, the maintenance for a private sim is 295 usd. If you buy two private sims does the Fee double. Or three etc.etc. The reason Im asking is because Im contemplating on buying upwards of four sims and need to understand the fees Involved.

Thanks

The US$295 is per region. So two regions is US$590, four is US$1180, and so on.

i was talking to my land owner last night and he said the left over box has all the data in it for land shape ect. obviously the scripts or whatever run and then get deleted, they were in exactly thte same position on each of our four void sims. creepy linden ply wood boxes :) i want one to keep!

Hmm I checked the contents of the box and it was empty. I surmised it was the telehub as with my first island, when I teleported to it, I arrived next to the plywood box and not at 128,128. That, and the fact that telehubs have to be prim/objects, made me think that it was a default telehub.

Honestly though the box should include a "welcome" notecard and some kind of user's guide or instruction manual -- especially if it's your first island. Or at least, a linden bear. Some kind of goodie, after shelling out $1675 fer goodness sake! :)

I agree about the notecard and maybe a welcome note, That would be wonderful.
It would give me that "Oh look they left a mint on my pillow feeling"

I guess they figure if your willing to shell out that kind of money you already know it all!
hehe...

And it was total of 8 days to get our sim I updated my last post and I grateful that it came today so our bill will be due at the begging of the month everymonth..

Well I'm back playing the region waiting game again -- I put in an order for a set of openspace sims on Monday night, and 4,783,231 land store status refreshes later, it's still on Processing. The accompanying support ticket was looked at Monday night and has been 'work in progress' ever since, with no updates since. :(

Based on my two previous landstore orders, I have my fingers crossed that today is the day again, but I don't know -- someone else I spoke to earlier in January was still waiting, after 10 days.

Has anyone noticed if the island deliveries are slow this month?

Atashi,

I wish I could testify as to my current island delivery time, but I don't anticipate being a "proud father" again anytime too soon. I still haven't completely finished the one I ordered on page 1 of this thread!

However, I will speculate, that in the United States, this is tax-return season, and that could possibly result in an annual surge in island purchases, slowing the delivery time. But that's just a guess.

Noooww I’m really confused on the whole Island and Estate purchase. Say if you go to the LL land store and purchase a region; is that an island or just a flat parcel of land?
I read where it states that the land isn’t contiguous to other newly purchased regions but I wasn’t sure if that meant it couldn’t be connected to other smaller parcels.

What if I wanted to purchase only 1/8th or a 1/4th of a region? Is that were land searches come into play?

Can you tell I’m confused on the whole process? Should I just give up and continue to hang out in sandboxes?

I found it very interesting about the mystery cube though… makes me want one!
