On The Emerald Viewer When Logging In I Have My Old Accounts But Waana Get Rid of Them To Just Show My one Account To Log In How Do I Delete The others

Maybe try logging in with them once but making sure "remember avie name" is unticked?

I dont know if that will help.

Oops that was for Macs - what's your os?

In XP it's Docs&Sttings/User/ApplicationData/SecondLife/user_settings/saved_logins.xml I would think.

Ok I went to where i'm supposed to go SecondLife/user_settings/saved_logins.xml but i have a emachine still can't find in my folder for second life saved_logins.xml

What is your OS --- the location is different for XP vs Vista, probably for Windows7 also.

The file will be found in:

C:\Documents and Settings\{pc-login-username}\Application Data\SecondLife\user_settings\

It is possible that if your login account is not defined as an administrator, you might not be able to get there -- I cannot remember for sure on that.

I can't think of where else it might be, or why it might be elsewhere, but I would probably just search for "saved_logins.xml" -- first in your "documents and settings" folder (and all subfolders) and then in "program files" or all of C.

Just an additional comment -- if you are trying to not show the avi names so that nobody else knows the names of the rest of your alts, if they can get to "C:\Documents and Settings\{pc-login-username}\Application Data\SecondLife\" they can see all the names anyway cuz every avi will have a folder there.

I'm not sure what the problem is. There is a drop down menu of account names?

I never see anything but the last log in - type the new name and it should stay. It doesn't?

Also as someone else said, uncheck 'save log in.'

I'm guessing either Emerald has it's own file (probably in the same directory) that it uses, or it's possible it's just grabbing the names of all the folders in the above mentioned spot (in which case you'd just delete the folders with those names)... the only other possibility I can imagine is MRU listing in the registry

Make sure you look in user settings not program files.

Under the "Documents and Settings" folder, there are usually folders for each username on the pc, as well as "all users" and "default user". Are you sure you are looking in the correct folder? It also could be that if it is the Home version of XP, that the location is slightly different.


BTW -- I cannot get Emerald to leave the 'remember resident name' box unchecked. If I uncheck it, the next time I start Emerald, it is checked again. I have that same issue (in Emerald only) with a few of the Preference settings.

It has been a long time since I've looked at an XP Home setup, but I did not think it was too different from the Pro setup as far as the Docs & Settings folder went.

I've run out of suggestions.

MAKE SURE YOU SET ALL FILES/FOLDERS TO VISIBLE as it's hidden as default.

The folder you want to proceed from is Documents&Settings.
