From: Drivin Sideways I am already noticing differences in the way that SLX/whatever works.
OR more accurately DOESN'T work, because things which always worked before seem to be broken now - anyone surprised?
Also, it will not keep my money on deposit any more. If I make a deposit at a terminal and don't spend it within a certain amount of time it bounces back to my inworld balance. Is there anyone here who prefers it that way? Well, if you log in to the xstreet-sl website, you'll see there is now a small "withdraw" link under your SLL Balance, and a small "deposit" link under your USD balance. I was able to use the "withdraw" link to easily get my L$ out of xstreet and back into my in-world L$ balance. From what i understand, once LL is done adapting the site to their takeover, you won't need to "deposit" L$ from in-world ATM's to use it on xstreet. Your full L$ balance from in-world will be available as soon as you log in to the xstreet site. I suspect the "Deposit" link is for adding from your credit card or PayPal to your USD balance on the site. I haven't tried, and don't intend to while the site is in transition. I would anticipate that the ATM's will cease to exist once the transition is complete, or will only be used to verify avatar identity when establishing a website account.

I log in there daily. I see the links you are talking about, and they're nothing new at all.
More accurately, I see the "Deposit" link. I only see the "withdraw" link when I have a $L balance in the account... which is my whole point. What IS new is that my $ doesn't stay in the X-Street account where I put it. It gets bounced back to my inworld account without my permission/direction.

Maybe because I didn't send it from in world, but bought it with US$ on the SLX exchange?

Hmmm ... maybe so. Good observation.
I've been hoping someone would share their observations, at least by offering a "me too" or "mine doesn't" ... so, thank you Lindal.
So, let me incorporate my observation into a question which invites response.
.... My XStreet inworld ATM deposits are being returned to my inworld balance after a few hours. Is this happening to anyone esle? ....
It would be comforting to know if I am not the only one.

Mine's still there, too, but I got it from product sales. I would still rather be able to move money back and forth instead of having it end up in a single pool. I guess I'll have to use my building alt to buy and sell stuff on XStreetSL.

The L$150 that I had in my SLL balance was there from before the merger. Long before. Something left over from my last shopping trip on xstreet, so many months ago I can't even recall when it was.
I used to sell clothes and furniture on xstreet, but took that down when I closed my in-world stores, to focus on building for hire and making textures.
Used to sell on SL Boutique, before Electric Sheep bought them. Got off that system after watching the Sheep activities on the grid (Grid Shepherd and other spying).

I use the XstreetSL Remote Deposit box, so I just deposited a little L$ to my XstreetSL account from SL, will wait and see what happens. I haven't used a terminal in ages!

The "Withdraw" option has always been there on your XStreet website if you are logged in. The "Deposite" option is a feature that comes with your having set up one of these Remote Deposite Boxes It allows you to transfer Lindens out of your SL balance and into your XStreet account.

No, I have not. I have not lost any $, it just came back - they apparently do not want my business.
Do you hear that, merchants? The venue that takes YOUR commission dollar is at the same time shutting out and alienating customers with money. How are your profits this month?
Part of my decision process as to how/whether to proceed included hearing from other consumers here in this thread as to whether the phenomenon seems to be universal.
I stopped using SLuXStreetWhatever for a while about 6 months ago when they decided to be the only place in the world where my Paypal card is no good. Contacting them was no help at that time - and that was BEFORE LL took over. Thus, experience tells me it will be less frustrating to simply flush SLuXStreet from my world (again ... ) than to bang my head against their customer service rock.
Nevertheless I remain undecided.

It would be comforting to know if I am not the only one. My lindens have not been returned to me. I had transfered them from in-world at an ATM location and only spent half of the amount several weeks ago... and the rest is still there.

I'm sorry that you seem to have had bad luck with their customer support...my experience has been completely opposite. XStreet's support has always been fast and courteous, as opposed to LL's automated non-responsiveness. Also, I am surprised to hear you've had problems with them vis a vis PayPal. I don't use a PayPal card, but I do use both regular and Mass Payment transfers, and they work great, every time.

Which, if any, of the XStreet staff have become Lindens? Has any of the XStreet staff acquired the ability to tell who is alt of who? Do any of them now have ability to examine our real life info, credit info, inventory, etc.?

It's not a good thing.
Today XstreetSL banned me becouse I relisted an item after an unmotivated negative comment and I can't sell my items anymore becouse they now have the monopoly.
I will probably quit SL since I can't pay my land fees becouse Xstreet sales are 99% of all my incomes.
Bye bye SL

From: Lear Cale They had that before, FYI. They also have a rather flaky system... My housemates, some months after hearing that I had released my box of megaprims.. ran over to XStreet and grabbed them (they're free). I had given them copies before, but I had recently changed the "unpacker" script, and I guess I was asleep at the time, so they just hopped on SLX and grabbed copies. I got a rather terse note from SLX, basically threatening me with permanent deletion of my account, for what they didn't say. It took 2 days to get the whole mess ironed out, but they had assumed that because the IP address (range?) was the same, that their accounts were alts of mine. In fact, so freakish were they about this matter, that I went around and warned all my close friends NEVER to rate my items on SLX. All this.. over a star rating.. on a freebie.

lol The funny thing is that the Xstreet employe warned me using his home email that have a domain blacklisted for spam so I received it in the unwanted mail folder. She also replied to my email telling me sorry but not giving me any good reason for the ban. Question now is, can I issue a ticket to linden lab or there is nothing I can do?

I relisted something that I thought I didn't list the first time... Anyways, I sent in a ticket to the lindens to ask if we would be getting another chance and was told that they would not be looking into anything that happened before they took over. So in a nut shell...If your banned, your pretty much out of luck.

Pretty basic question here.
Say you have 20 people selling apples on Xstreet
One is called "Apple" One is called "Apple (3 different sizes)" One is called "Apple Red"
then you make an Apple for sale and call it "Apple"
How come your Apple might be on Page 3 or 4 of the listings, when the others are above you in the search?
Despite them having alpabetically lower value names and older products.
Can anyone explain how this works?
Thanks.

Can anyone explain how this works? Good luck with that. It's not alphabetic unless you s*lect that from the s*rt order drop-down, but it's not anything else that might make sense, either. If you can get to page 3 or 4 with 20 competitors consider yourself lucky. One of my products is buried on page 11 of search even when you search for it by name. It's a scripted device and it shows up after some dresses and a bunch of other stuff that has nothing to do with any keywords you might search by, and it doesn't appear to be because of keyword spamming. Some of the items ahead of me have very little in the way of description or sales. If you figure it out, please share. Edit: Also note that featured items appear at the top of the page they would normally appear, so within a page the order may not be what you expect.

From: Anya Ristow and it doesn't appear to be because of keyword spamming. Maybe, maybe not, I did a search the other day on Xstreet and wondered why an item that had nothing whatsoever to do with my search term was showing up and then I figured it out, white font, about size 1, crammed with keywords, I moused over it and copied the hidden contents into notepad and there it was, keyword city.
