I don't care either way. I scan the titles and if it interests me, I look at it. Same with an Ignore feature.

Actually there is an Ignore thread feature built into SL on the client side. It is implemented by moving the cursor on the screen past the unwanted thread and clicking on something else...

Ok, that's sort of like Asking for Earplugs so you don't have to listen to your own Radio.
If you want to Ignore a Thread, DON'T LOG INTO IT. Or is this solution just too simple for you?
Instead of petitioning LL to do something so Utterly Pointless, why don't you just police yourself, and leave LL alone to fix the REAL issues with SL?
Angel.

Or is this solution just too simple for you? You are both right but I don't need automatic windows on my car either. It would be a luxury item. Not a requirement. For me it would make it much easier to scan through the forums. I'd love to have it, but I also think LL has plenty of other things to worry about. If it magically appeared I'd be happy, but petition? No. I chose not to vote in the poll.

sorry

I'm sorry but i use the forums as place to answer threads..be helpful..share ideas that threads give way to and occasionally use it to even ask questions myself.
Others.....use the forums as their own heiarchy..or anarchy and social climbing ladder. They use threads...(any they see fit) to berate..ostricize..play..derail..flirt and many other things besides address the OPs original question.
I should'nt have to ignore entire threads because they've been inondated with these posts..nor should i have to scroll thru reading the substance..like picking out pepper from a salad inorder to give an objective and educated answer.
If a feature were inplace that allowed me to choose the person or persons who indulge in such behavior and mute them..It would basically save me the chore of searching visually for the "real" subject matter in the thread.
I don't call that a luxury and since others refuse to respect peoples feelings and needs in these forums I see it more as "safety feature" for those who come to the forums for "help" rather than a highschool clique.

I believe *that* feature exists: it's possible to put a poster on one's "ignore" list, from the User CP. As I understand this thread, some versions of vBulletin also can be configured to allow one to add *threads* to an ignore list. I've used neither of these features, but I'm just guessing that ignored threads wouldn't take up space in the listing.

It's at the top of the page, right above 'New Thread'. Once there, go to the bottom of the page in 'Miscellaneous' (I think).

Petition them? You're kidding, right? They don't care enough to fix this blasted 503 bs and they're going to add something to these forums?

From: Bradley Bracken There are many threads I'm interested in that I'm not so interested in that I want to subscribe to them. In fact, I rarely subscribe. Only those that are important to me enough that I want to receive emails about them.
Hmm interested in threads but not interested in them enough to subscribe? For me, I'm either interested or not If I'm not and it shows in new posts then I might have another look. But otherwise I just ignore them and hit next page. You can have too many features, I remember in another forum someone asking to be able to mute all others by default and only see his pals posts

From: Tegg Bode Hmm interested in threads but not interested in them enough to subscribe? For me, I'm either interested or not For my perspective, think of it like a magazine. I subscribe to magazines that I'm most interested in, but that doesn't mean I wont pick up something else. More specific to these forums, I have a store that is directly impacted by the current search method. Therefore, I subscribe to a long running thread related to how the new search works. On the other hand, I plan to expand my store and buy some land but not immediately, therefore I'm interested in the threads related to land prices but not interested enough at this point to subscribe to them. Just different ways different people use the forums. Like some people click New Posts and some people only click on Resident Answers. No right or wrong.

i use the 'no email notification' subscription. i get no emails, but when i go into the user cp (its bookmarked) all the threads i have participated in are listed if they have new replies.
