From: Qie Niangao I get it. Really, I do. And yet, inexplicably, I'll try one more time:
So, what is this "LAN" and, specifically, what are all the devices on that LAN between the client machine and the Internet?
When you have that list, power down every piece of equipment on it, then bring them back up, one at a time, starting at the ISP's gateway device and ending with the client machine itself. It's an internet connection. All the devices: The socket, a wire, the computer. Oh wow, complicated. I could unplug the wire but the only thing that will change is that I will have no internet at all until I plug it back in again.

From: BimboZombie Morpork It's an internet connection. All the devices: The socket, a wire, the computer. Oh wow, complicated. I could unplug the wire but the only thing that will change is that I will have no internet at all until I plug it back in again. LOOK DUDE... I am usually not rude to people on any forum but listen to what is being said to you and stop the smart 4$$ replies!!! There is a specific reason you are being told to do these things. You are being asked for specific information for specific reasons. With the information you gave we know that you have a "shared wired connection." Way back in the beginning when you said "what router;" being a smart 4$$, if you would have been polite to the good people of these forums and said something more on the lines of "I have no router or modem." We would have been to this point in the trouble shooting like 10 posts ago. It might be possible that its a software problem but I don't think it is. Hardware is way easier to trouble shoot and a lot faster too. Try to find out who controls the network you're on. Are you in an apartment building? Talk to the super. In a dorm? Wherever find whoever passes for the IT tech and (this is important) be polite and ask them nicely if they have changed any of the port settings. If they say no then tell them that you're having problems connecting to an online game and it maybe a modem or router issue and would they mind resetting the internet devices. If this does not work then we go to your computer settings and possible denial of service issues. I just have to add, by the time I was to the bottom of the first page of posts I was ROFLMA at the mindset. I know that's not right but man I just couldn't help myself.

Am I the only one that is starting to get the feeling that the old saying"The name says it all",applies to the OP? And we are all passengers on a long ride of leg pulling.
