Feels like any other day to me.

Raises a glass of single malt to the great old Robert Burns poem. The honor is ours, Des. Looking so forward to a whole new decade in SL (well, technically it doesn't start until 2011, I know).

And you know - it never grows old really. There is always a new adventure waiting around the corner. New people. Dear old friends. Life is good. Second Life is good.

Blame the restaurant industry & years of crap jobs. Years of working there has pretty much killed any enjoyment of holidays. I've worked every holiday in the past 20 years, even worked during the birth of my niece & nephew, funerals, marriages, birthdays, etc. Don't have to now so I pity those that do.

To me its just another day.

If I had my way, I'd be working January 1st. Even Xmas, Easter, etc. I hate having days off.

Like my dad & grandfather always said, if you're not working 12-15 hrs a day, you're lazy & worthless.

I'd like to point out that your signature has not changed since the last time I had to threaten you with my 2 x 4- that's what i mean by quit mopping too- Geesh crack a smile already! And you lke what you do or at least u did last i heard, so working at what you enjoy is a plus- thank your lucky stars and little green clovers and greet the new year with hope. And if you call me Pollyanna I will start flailing!

This is the first new year's day in ... decades ... that I haven't had a hangover. I had what I thought was flu yesterday and only managed a tiny sip of champagne at midnight. Today, I feel lots better - it's settled down into a normal snotty cold.

The sun is shining and I'm going to wrap up warm and go for a walk in the woods

yep all the best to you folks too..I'm going round a friends later for a spot of hootenany because he's a laird don't you know..well a laird only because his wife bought him 0.3 m2. of a field on an Orkney Island Estate. A piece of land he can neither touch nor stand on without trespassing on someone else's bit. But that's not important, what is important is that he has 1993 Glendronach whisky. Pretty close to perfection, I'd say. So before I shuffle off and partake, may I take this opportunity to wish you all success and prosperity this year and indeed this decade. That's all you can really ask for....................fox.

Yes, you're right of courser. Especially since, right at my feet was a sign that said 'Don't eat yellow snow'. Of course we know Weston is very capeable of making yellow snow. He said he'd be good but some things arse just reflex for pups. Anyway was a fun time.
