Not the forums, THE MARKETPLACE!!!!! Who the hell is the Linden who is responsible for this crap? Who is it that is making these incredibly stupid design decisions? Which dumbass is the person who is approving these decisions. IT HAS BEEN YEARS since I actually had to sidescroll a webpage. We are talking webpage design 101. Why do they have the php code perverted so that it will not keep track of your cookies and you have to log in every single time.

Stupid, stupid, stupid!

The not being able to stay logged in is a major irritant. I also find it harder to navigate the site. I'm not happy with the "upgrades".

Don't hold back Jesse ;)

Works on my screen but I have a larger monitor, which isn't the userbase they should be aiming for.

You should have seen the mess when they first made the changes, the site gave people headaches within seconds, they've fixed that now thankfully.

But I'm sure the next economic report will show an increase in xstreet sales.

I have a 24" monitor and I have my browser stretched almost top-to-bottom, and the headings and whitespace and menus and whitespace and banners and whitepsace and navigation thingies and whitespace and logos and whitespace eat up almost half the vertical space. That, and it doesn't remember that I want to see two columns. And, of course, I have to sign in every time I go there.

But the worst part is that nothing is ever deleted, listing 400 variants of the same damned thing is encouraged, cheap knock-offs appear before the real thing, keyword spamming and duplicate listing is rampant and reporting it accomplishes nothing. Search results get worse and worse. Being visible is an exercise in futility, and paying for listing enhancements is money down a frickin' hole.

One of my items (I sell scripted objects) appears on page 11 of search results when you search for it by name. It appears after some dresses. If I pay for listing enhancement it appears...at the top of page 11. Oh, boy.

Said Linden is apparently not a graphic artist... or not a good one. Nor are they a coder. I'm not sure what they are, but those two things, they are not.

As for the cookie issue. I wanna know why they haven't gone ahead and used the OpenID for the whole kit and kaboodle. They have it for XStreet.

When LL bought XstreetSL, all was great there.

there was a slight problem though, and so they made some changes.

* They replaced the forums.
* They changed the great navigation for a borked one.
* they created sideways scrolling for the mayority of users.
* Then they broke the settings
* Broke the abbility to save those settings
* Broke the ability to stay logged in as well

And when the residents started to scream and complain, they were satisfied... Cause now... it was apparent to everyone that Xstreet was part of LL.

You know the saying:

If it ain't broken... it's not LL owned.

It's an eyesore. I don't even log in to it anymore to check my sales. I thought they ruined the blogs, but they really did a number on xstreet.

And why can't they remember that I want to see adult content?

At the very least, the SELLERS ought to be exempt from having to confirm their own adult content every single time.
It's MY stuff, of course I want to see it (not that I understand why a picture of someone in a bikini is adult content but I guess they lump all the shapes and skins under adult)

Actually, I think we'll have a better chance of winning the lottery than figuring out the information from the Lindens.

Curious about the Emerald Viewer and all the features?

I'm with you on all this. I posted some new textures yesterday and noticed that there was far more clothing, shoes, hair, weapons, jewelery, etc., cluttering the texture section than actual textures ~ and demos for everything but textures :(

due to the fact it now DEMANDS that you set your browser to accept cookies, i've taken it off any and all bookmarks and haven't bothered with it any longer.
and THAT's how the cookie crumbles...

Here's another problem...

Once upon a time I changed my sort criteria to "Sort by price: high to low", and now I can't change it to anything else.

Edit: Correction--I can change it to anything but "Sort by relevance".

Of course, how they define "relevant" is a bit of a puzzle

About 99% of all websites are crap in terms of usability. Yes, XStreetSL violates a lot of best practices. And it is still easier to navigate than 99% of SL "brick and mortar" stores. I usually prefer to put up with XStreetSL's annoying features than deal with most inworld stores.
