I'm going to publicly apologize for being a killjoy. I don't mean to stomp on people's enthusiasm, but I interpreted it as sarcasm since you initially said you couldn't find Eloh's template, and then 3 posts in a row - it was over the top. But I did say something that needed to be said - go to Texturing Tips. There you will find more resources that will help you, such as photosourcing tutorials. While Eloh's skin templates are instructive, you won't advance beyond that level if you don't learn more, and that is the place to do it. Yes, I know that the forum search is anemic at best, but a search for "photosource" in addition to the stickies in there will round out your knowledge in a way that asking questions in here may never do.

Cristalle that was so nice of you and i truly apologize if i caused anyone any inconvenience.. i know i can be LOUD sometimes lol.. and i can be sarcastic but that was not the case :D

anyways guys.. it was all one big misunderstanding and all is good now

and as you said cristalle.. the search.. omg :S very frustrating.. and after a few days with attempting to mess with the skin to create something new.. i don't think that works well lol! as you said.. i need to learn the fine details to that process.. as for both templates.. they r great and amazing.. (and btw it's a shame that some people take advantage of them cuz i saw them being sold earlier on in my sl days :S).

anyways.. thanks again for the tip cristalle. no hard feeling?

*HUG*! xD

You are mistaken, Maelstrom.

I have to say that, at first, I thought Cristalle's post was odd, and I didn't think it was necessary - especially coming from Cristalle, who is *not* a killjoy by any stretch of the imagination. It was when I read her second post (#18) that I understood, and her first post did make sense.

Go back and read the first series of posts. You'll see that the Nory asks if eloh eliot is around. There was no reply from eloh, but then came several "jubilant" posts that could easily be read as sarcasm due to the fact that eloh didn't appear. I.e. "Are you there, Eloh?" - no answer for a while - "Oh ty ty ty Eloh, you are wonderfull!", meaning that I asked for Eloh, Eloh didn't show, so Eloh let me down big time because *I* matter.

The jubilant posts weren't meant that way, but that, I believe, is the way that Cristalle read them, and understandably so. She was sharper then me because I hadn't noticed that eloh hadn't appeared, and that's why her post sounded odd to me. Nobody is at fault - it was a genuine, and understandable, misunderstanding.

I took the posts that way, that she was being sarcastic, but I never felt a need to reply because I am not eloh

we all have bad days, and days that our communications just do not come out the way we wanted them to

and I try to remember that and hold tight onto that, with each post I read

now that being said, I am glad it got all smoothed out. Lately it seems the forums are kinda quiet (as far as fighting and name calling) well, except for a specific few, but we won't go there LOL

I like it being peaceful, it makes it easier to try to help someone, if you are not watching over your shoulder to see if someone is going to rip your post apart and getting all personal and stomping all over the place and trying to either belittle you, or better you, or both. (or just plain disagree)

erm... anyway... yeah

Nory you are most welcome.
I have used eloh's templates, and can answer any questions you might have. I have my pm's turned on here, and can also be reached in world (I get my im's in my email when not logged in)

the fun part of SL, for me, is helping others.

hahahhahahha getting ripped apart! omg! if only i had a penny for every time that happened!! with any of my avatars! lol :S

the forums should be more peaceful.. people come here for help but then they just freeze in horror! "what will they say if i wrote that!?" and usually.. someone has something to say.. but in my case it was a misunderstanding and it's cool.. in other cases.. someone would just SNAP at you for no reason! and you go back to the post and wonder.. hmmm.. where did i go wrong! and then you discover that the only mistake u made was posting a simple question in the wrong area..! :S or being lazy (like me lol!). well i'll tell u a facr.. no one would bother to search the forums cuz let's face it.. the search is usually time consuming and the results barely resemble the one you're looking for! so why not post another thread? if the topic is important that is.. but whoever gets to decide that? we all have different views.. so why not give each other a chance instead of killing each other? what's wrong with helping one another with nothing in return? we're not here to judge each other.. we're here to learn from each other.. i think this is what sl is all about :)

damn that was long.. and emotional lol.. never mind it hehhehhehhehe

anyways.. NO MORE FIGHTING!

and btw.. i wasn't being sarcastic! LOOOOOOL!! ;P

and rhao i sure will contact u! :D thanks again :)

please tell me you did not think I was ripping on you. (I wasn't) sometimes I communicate badly in text (which is why I am pro voice for SL LOL)

I am guessing by the last comment, that you are not thinking I ripped on you, and yes, please do contact me and you are very welcome

(and jump for joy all you want, we need more happiness around here)

the search is usually time consuming and the results barely resemble the one you're looking for! so why not post another thread? if the topic is important that is.. but whoever gets to decide that?

you made some very good points, but I clipped just this part, cuz it stuck out for me.

I do wonder who does get to decide what is important and what is not, what is deemed worthy to be posted and what is not. (personally I think no one has the right to tell another that their post should not be here, or that it is "not worthy";)

(and I am guilty of telling folks, "wrong forum";)

however some folks do they they have that right, and they exercise it at ever chance, which does make some folks hesitate on posting, which causes us, as a whole, to lose some very valuable input.

I have learned to have a thick skin here... (it has also helped that some folks took the time to talk to me, and shows me I am not alone in my views)

so on that note, I say, to anyone reading this...

If you have a question and are afraid of having the "self proclaimed forum police" attack you for asking in the wrong place, or asking something that has been asked a hundred times before....

well, just ask your question, ignore the naysayers, and you will get some very helpful answers.

(just like you have to go through a lot of lumps of coal to find a diamond, you have to weed through a lot of unpleasantness to get to the gems here in these forums.

:) and in my experience, it is well worth getting a thicker skin for.

(just think of it as receiving a +100 to armor) hehe

No hard feelings.

Re: Search, the problem is that some great tutorials are posted in there that don't end up getting stickied and it's really onerous for that person to have to keep posting again and again. I sincerely hope that the revamped forum (when it happens) will make finding that stuff easier.
