Skin creation help

Hello everyone. I hope you all have patience with me.. I have been around SL for a while.. starting to get bored really.. what's the use of shopping, shopping, shopping and shopping??
So, i am trying out different things now.. tried creating clothes, shoes, tattoos, building, scripting.. everything.. i am doing fine with all but skin!? oh my!
can anyone tell me where to find a basic skin template that i can work around? i tried creating my own and i must say that newbie skin looked much better (no offence)!
xstreet has great PSD skin creators but i am not sure i can handle any disappointments further on especially with the prices so high! so if anyone can help, kindly do

You can download Eloh Elliot's PSD skin templates for free from her blog. Unfortunately I'm at work now do I don't have the URL. I'm sure someone here will have it though

I've heard about those templates but couldn't find them :/

Second, you were given good, easy advice to google it. How hard is it to type "eloh eliot" in the search bar?

Third, you would be better off spending time in the Texturing Tips forum where you can get a lot better answers from the people that spend time in there doing that kind of stuff.

aside from that.. i have uploaded the skin inworld for testing.. looks good so far but there is one thing i have noticed.. du'nno if it's related to the skin but the eye lashes are white.. i tried making them as short as possible but no use.. what is the problem guys??

and btw.. if you don't have anything better than pissing people off plz do not bother to comment.

I completely understand your enthusiasm! LOL. I felt the same way when I found her templates. I learned a lot from them and they are a great gift.

Elohs skins are an excellent resource (I was equally chirpy when i found them)...also, try looking up Sezmra Svarog who has been equally generous. Both sets make a really useful starting point.

well i was here for an answer and i got it.. expressed some happiness which you obviously ruined..
i bet in ur early sl days someone gave u a hard time.. not my fault hun.. u should be nicer to ppl especially when they r experiencing something new.. we as newbies expect older members to be helpful but instead.. some of them turn around and bite us in the ass just cuz "they've been there"! why is that??
anyways.. plz.. ppl.. if u have something useful to say plz do share.. if not why just ruin someone else's day??

I'm going to publicly apologize for being a killjoy. I don't mean to stomp on people's enthusiasm, but I interpreted it as sarcasm since you initially said you couldn't find Eloh's template, and then 3 posts in a row - it was over the top. But I did say something that needed to be said - go to Texturing Tips. There you will find more resources that will help you, such as photosourcing tutorials. While Eloh's skin templates are instructive, you won't advance beyond that level if you don't learn more, and that is the place to do it. Yes, I know that the forum search is anemic at best, but a search for "photosource" in addition to the stickies in there will round out your knowledge in a way that asking questions in here may never do.

Cristalle...you are right about the Texturing Tips....and with the concept that the templates are a beginning resource only. Definately people should do all and any photoshop texturing tutorials, and bring all their creativity/skills to the occasion.

I have to say that, at first, I thought Cristalle's post was odd, and I didn't think it was necessary - especially coming from Cristalle, who is *not* a killjoy by any stretch of the imagination. It was when I read her second post (#1 that I understood, and her first post did make sense.

Go back and read the first series of posts. You'll see that the Nory asks if eloh eliot is around. There was no reply from eloh, but then came several "jubilant" posts that could easily be read as sarcasm due to the fact that eloh didn't appear. I.e. "Are you there, Eloh?" - no answer for a while - "Oh ty ty ty Eloh, you are wonderfull!", meaning that I asked for Eloh, Eloh didn't show, so Eloh let me down big time because *I* matter.

The jubilant posts weren't meant that way, but that, I believe, is the way that Cristalle read them, and understandably so. She was sharper then me because I hadn't noticed that eloh hadn't appeared, and that's why her post sounded odd to me. Nobody is at fault - it was a genuine, and understandable, misunderstanding.
