Hah!
Mainland or Island, it's the same underlying sim and database software.

The people discussing a similar-but-not-same issue in http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-936 seem to be private island.

Are you sure your land is actually taking on the attributes of the other parcel? Frequently when i click 'about land' for a plot, it will show me the information for the previous plot i that i clicked 'about land' on. Even if that plot was a long time and several TP's ago. But if i wait a few seconds and click 'about land' again, i always get the correct plot information. If that is not the case and plot information really is getting mixed up, that would be a major scary bug. But if something that major were wrong, i suspect we would have heard more about it by now.

My parcel contained every characteristic of the neighbor's parcel in the next sim. I rarely even go onto their land except for the occasional helicopter accident. Anyway, I was just flying around my own sim and noticed that the top of my browser said "So and so's furniture" or something.

The title was changed, the teleport point was gone, the land settings were all different (no-push, no fly, build/no build). I didn't even notice no-fly until a day later when I tried to fly as an alt, and it wouldn't let me. So the settings are permanent; this definitely isn't just a laggy "about land" screen.

From your and Sling's comments, its obviously not the same thing i've seen. At this point, i'd like to issue my offical: Yikes!

The last comment in http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/MISC-1034 is

"At yesterday's bug triage I was told that there is a fix for this internally which is pending release, although a confirmation here from one of the Dev team would be nice ;)"

And there's no sign of a third cloning on my Nebo parcel, which had it on two days running on Sunday and monday

Today I bought a 40ksqm parcel in Cody for L$110k that had picked up the price of a neighbouring 8ksqm parcel. Interestingly the seller called the Lindens on the phone and they transferred the parcel back without bothering to contact me but there you go. I did get my money back at least.

Interesting. So this bug definitely is happening then to some extent.

Don't be hurt.
The events are summarised by me in the latest comment in http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/MISC-1034

The owner of the 43008m Cody parcel happened to be on her land, when the music stream suddenly changed.
Then her build poofed.
She was freaked out - Understandably.

"Interestingly the seller ........"
She wasn't a "seller". Her land was not for sale.

LL rolled back the sim for her (as opposed to reversing the transaction). She owned most of it and nothing of note other than the visit by your landbot seems to have happened by way of 'real' activity on the sim.

She contacted me a few hours ago about the script I posted in the JIRA. - which is how I came to learn of the events.

My latest post on JIRA

======================================
The land would be cleared because of a non-zero autoreturn.
The prims no longer belong to the owner.
Prims! Your time is up. Goodbye.

So while this bug persists:
We wait for an entire sim to be bought for L$ 5120 and the work of a group over years to be returned to Inventory.
- or in the case of group-owned prims - simply deleted.

BOT RUNNERS:

Pretty please.
Set your bots so that they set
- Autoreturn to 0 and
- No build for all

Thanks for reporting, Elanthius. Sorry they weren't very helpful with you as the buyer. I'm very glad they are at least attempting to make things right for the "seller," or "victim," however one might put it.

I would hope and expect that rollbacks are in order for someone who incurs large amounts of damage on this.
