I have a bunch of Grendel avatars that I've never unpacked. I bought them to show support. This was back when they were thinking of closing their doors.

I have a lot of stuff I haven't unpacked yet. Even a couple of avatars, I think, but I can't recall where I put them.

I've got a bunch of stuff, mainly hair that I thought looked good on me at the time but didn't look so hot upon closer inspection. Some clothing too... There's not really much else I buy apart from skins and textures.

I couldn't think of anything significant until I remembered a no-transfer collar I once bought. What's the point of a copy/no-transfer collar? How many can you wear at a time?

Anything I acquire that is boxed goes into my 'New Stuff' folder and may never see the light of day. I just hate all that business of rezzing the box, opening it, copying the contents to my inventory, taking and deleting the original box, then moving the copied contents to the appropriate inventory folders. SLife is too short.

I was up to 60+K at one point in time
I am currently over 65K - probably 75% of that is clothing/hair and probably 1/2 - 3/4 of is stuff yet to be unpacked and tried on.

I am a freebie and hunt whore - though I have dropped almost all my groups and do not go after the freebies near as much now. I try, but still cannot stop doing the hunts. Maybe I need a Hunters Anonymous support group.

My method, to help deal with it -- change clothes every day, sometimes twice a day and for 99.999% of the outfits, I get rid of them after that one wearing. If they are transfer, they go into a folder and I drop outfits on newbies. If no transfer, they are deleted as soon as I take them off. I have a few that I really really love that I have kept.

Saw some comments in another thread that got me to thinking about my own inventory...

Do you have things (be they clothing, vehicles, and everything in between) that you have never used, possibly never unpacked?

I dare say, yes I do... (mostly from when I tried doing some hunts, not sure how people manage to keep up)

So... do you have things you have yet to use/open/see?

I have a lot of sex pose balls I dont use...

"sigh"

heh...
that reminds me, I once upon a time, long ago, when it first came out, bought lovescene... and it disappeared, so Craig sent me a replacement and yep that disappeared too, so I purchased another, which you guessed it, disappeared... (I can not recall if I purchased another or not, if I did, it is also gone)

I think SL was trying to tell me something LOL

(and now, I have no use for it, heck, never had a use for it before either, I just liked it a lot) very nice pose ball animation set

to the OP:

Yes, am afraid to count exactly how many.

Mostly, cheap/free hair doesn't get used, although in early days I took a lot of it and I guess keep it around for contests, themes, etc.

But I tend to just wear my best now. Clothes, hair, shoes. There are a few freebies that I still wear from time to time though, but not often.

If I pick up a freebie now it has to be really good or unusual like an object or item not found anywhere else.

Later on, a scripted diaper.....

Never-not-ever-once was I ever tempted to 'attach' either one of them. (O.o)

I ..... (o.O) .... (O.o) .... Heh. (=_=)

I was recently horrified to see my Inventory hit 6300. So I pruned, and am down to 6200. Still unacceptable, LOL.

What I'm afraid to touch is my organizer boxes that are rezzed in my workshop. Lindal sent them to me ages ago, and they are simply stuffed. Urk.

i have building tools i bought way back because they claimed to do x,y or z but never did... or did it in a way that.. really it was easier to do the old fashioned way.

Ditto. I bought them, but then learnt how to use the inbuilt building tools and discovered I'd wasted my money.....

The other day I went to a class/lecture at the Dreams Community Health Fair. It was called 'Taming the Inventory Beast'. Ciebird did a great job explaining some tips for weeding down duplicate items for example. This is a class she offers often. If fact, the last class convinced her to set up a group, lol. And yes, I joined.

Ciebird's tips on how to use the Filters really sped up getting rid of duplicate items. Many times you just need one of something, like pose stands. Take her class the next it is held, you won't be sorry.

I have two folders that I use a lot, one called 'Not opened yet' and 'Freebies'. I've learned to have two inventory windows minimized on my screen when shopping. One is set to Recent Items, so that as I buy stuff I immediately move it into a folder. If I'm doing a hunt, I make a folder with the name of the hunt and move the boxes into it a few at time.

And I'm setting stuff aside to give away or donate as I sort through boxes/folders.

Yes, my inventory is bulging and I haven't a clue what half the things are lol I've tried clearing it but it's a nightmare!! I'm just a hoarder pure and simple, in both SL and RL!

I can honestly say 'no'. I clean out my inventory regularly, and anything I haven't looked at in a week's time gets put into a folder for future use or deleted. Since I'm trying to decide if it's worth keeping, I'll res it out, wear it, or whatever - it gets 'used', loosely put.

10 months inworld, my inventory is still under 7k. And I have yet to clean out my notecards and LMs. :)

My inventory is at about 11K. Half of it comprises textures, plants, my builds and mega prims; the other half is clothing. My tastes have changed and the designs have progressed in the last 2 years in SL. Many of the clothing items I had purchased back then I now would never wear again. Those I'm deleting as I find them.

I like the idea of having two inventory windows open for hunts and collecting freebies.. TY for that tip. I'll use that.

I saw recently that bilbo's inventory had exceeded one of my alts .. time to sort!
400 notecards, 400 landmarks later I started on the clothes. I found stacks of still-packed clothes. Unpapcking these almost restored the inventory number!!

Bear in mind my female items were freebies found on my accompanying my Morgaine shopping. I started going through them, deleting the mundane or low quality .. skins, hairs, clothes. As I cleared a category, I kept the last item on, moving to the next set. I ended up with quite a not-bad looking avatar!!!

Yes, SL life is too short for all this organisation!!

Since someone has seen fit to necro this thread, I've come up with something else:

Do you have things you have never used?
My virginity.

Oh, wait.... Was I supposed to list something I still have? :o
