Saw some comments in another thread that got me to thinking about my own inventory...
Do you have things (be they clothing, vehicles, and everything in between) that you have never used, possibly never unpacked?
I dare say, yes I do... (mostly from when I tried doing some hunts, not sure how people manage to keep up)
So... do you have things you have yet to use/open/see?

yes I have a "Shopping Bag" folder that is a holdong place for unpacked items. It gets quite full at times. I have been trying to prune my inventory of seldom or never used items as well, with some success.

i have building tools i bought way back because they claimed to do x,y or z but never did... or did it in a way that.. really it was easier to do the old fashioned way.
some of them really expensive.. some of them really not working..
and now i wonder how many other hundreds of ppl who dont know any better (like i didnt then) also spend thousands of L on things like these, that still dont work, in the hope of being able to do x,y or z.
i also have some really weird shit i bought on Kowloon that i never ever used. ^^

I'd hate to know the actual number of things I have in my inventory that I've never looked at. I'm great at grabbing freebies, lm's, notecards you name it. "Wow, that looks interesting, I should check it out." Off course most of them linger in my inventory until I have no idea what the initial attraction was in the first place. Anyone know if "Pack Rats Anonymos" has a chapter in SL?

I collect avatars, but really I only use the beagle puppy and a human geek I think of as "me." I also have some clothes that are just horrendous I would never use - just like in my real life closet, except the ones in SL still fit.

If there is one, let me know. I think I may need to join.

Oh yes.. tons of unpacked/unused items. I have the folders "new stuff 1" through "new stuff 7", each one filled so you have to scroll a lot to see the last item, and I think I've only worn like 2 tops and some boots out of all of that. All retail purchases in there. I don't freebie hunt or use them hardly ever, but I did seem to pick up a folder of boxed freebie packages somewhere.. who knows whats in those. Same for all the award prizes I got during last halloweens' big haunted maze craze. Probably 50 of them. Also have some Linden freebie packages Ive picked up over the years and no real idea what's in them, except for one I know's got several holiday bears in it.

Unpacked and unused items is one thing - what is irksome is the amount of items I have that I HAVE unpacked and found to be useless, ugly, or so badly made that I'd never use them. And then, because I paid for them, I can't bring myself to throw them out.

Oh sure...occasionally I'll stumble across things I've never opened. Makes me sick when it's something I actually bought, rather than a freebie.

Just like a jillion, plus or minus a few million. I NEVER have time to do the inventory organization thing anymore.

More than I care to admit. I'm constantly pruning inventory, taking a hard look at things to see if I really need/want them. Right now I'm in the middle of unpacking the Kiss Hunt boxes (and I never finished the Hunt, thankfully, nearly 100 of them is enough to deal with). I've already dumped several of those, but what I've opened added hundreds of items to inventory so I'm going to have to be very judicious about what I keep this time around.
Frequently I find things I didn't know I had, and am pleasantly surprised. About a month ago, Ghosty was throwing a party and I was all set to plunk down more Lindens on a new dress. I decided to take a peek through what I already owned and found a stunning black gown I'd never worn before, in a rather interesting style which went great with this odd black feather hat I'd just purchased from Nonna Hedges. Voila! Tres chic and French looking outfit and nothing spent. Made a note near the name of the dress to remind me of how fantastic it is. I'm about to embark on going through old dresses to try them on and weed out things which I no longer think fit my "style". I think I've changed alot since I first came here, I don't wear a lot of the more "cutesy" outfits which I used to. I paid for nearly all of these, some quite expensive but I know I'm never going to use them again and they are just cluttering up my inventory. If transferable, I'll send them to one of my alts (doubtful tho). If not - it's off to the trash, sad as it is.

No, I do not. At least, not for long. I am a bit OCD about keeping my inventory clean and tidy, and if there's something I'm not using, it's either deleted, or boxed.
Last week I noticed my inventory had gotten as high as 2,700 items so I spent an hour, and got it down to 2,400 which is still higher than I'd like... unfortunately there's just a lot of stuff I can't get rid of (textures mostly) because I need them for building etc.

for gosh sakes, Atashi, your inventory is positively anorexic! Mine's pushing 15,000, and I know I'm not the biggest collector of Stuff in this crowd.
Anyone with transferable items...I still have the Yard Sale area set up at Lebettu. Leave your items on the table, or on one of the ad boards.

/me noticed the title of the thread and wondered if Honeybear's reply included "an ex-husband".

Yeah, I have some things like that. Hair bought as an impulse buy, that I never took the time to try on and adjust to fit my avatar. Freebie items that I collected, but never rezzed. Lots of those, since free stuff tends to come in large collections of somewhat unrelated stuff. A few of my alts have avatars that I bought for them, so I could be sure they would *have* the avatar, if it became unavailable later, but I haven't set them up yet.
And once in a while I buy something, get really busy with something else, and my Objects folder gets so cluttered with new things that I don't realize until much later that I never unpacked that odd purchase.

I have a lot of stuff not used. Most are landscaping things that I know I will use eventually. Actually I have waves that I just used last night that I bought 4 months ago.

I was up to 60+K at one point in time and I actually still have all of it plus much more. Half of that is in textures that were given to me by different people or found. My inventory only shows 8,200 thou right now because most of it is in texture organizers, boxes and notecards.
