I have been there a few times and only twice have I seen folks there LOL
once they chatted
one time they did not

*shrug*

You were there last night, weren't you? I must have tp'es in about a millisecond after you tp'ed out. You missed a stunning display of truly awful freebie boats down at the dock. Some of them didn't even float.

I made a boat. It worked. Then I added a sail. It didn't work anymore.

Believe it or not, that beats a few of them I rezzed last night. I wonder why the sail made it sink. I would joke about adding ballast and a keel, but it's SL.

Is that Windlight? Pretty water!!

Yes, that is Windlight. And I know why it sank. I linked the sail to the boat and that messed up the script. The boat now spins like a windmill when I sit in it, at least the version with the sail attached. I do not mean that it floated on the surface spinning, I mean that the boat rotated and started sinking until most of the boat was underwater. Then it started spinning madly.

Out of habit, I always try to keep the vehicle script on the root prim of the vehicle. Did you, by chance, make the sail you linked to the boat the new root prim? That *might* cause this kind of behavior. =)

Last night I went to Kyoto which was amazing. I got a lovely kimono and watched a beautiful fireworks display from a ship. There are some more sights I plan on visiting this week in Japan. Makes me want to buy a little Tea house.

Picks:

Kyoto Bakumatsu - "The whole place is full of beautiful Japanese-style buildings, many of them based on real buildings from the end of the Edo period, and don’t be surprised to see a few people dressed as virtual geisha walking (or flying) around."

Second Life: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Kyoto%20BAKUMATSU/205/207/22

I also really liked Venice, Italy: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Venezia/191/132/32

There was a parachuting range set up near one of the building tutorial areas - not the Ivory Tower but an intermediate one whose name and landmark I have lost. That was pretty fun. There was a target you are supposed to hit - I usually wound up in another sim.

And when I was very new and wandering around at random, I saw a wooded area where a group of artists / builders were playing something like Pictionary, but three dimensional. Or maybe it was Charades with building. That was a lot of fun to watch- but I was so new I wasn't sure if I was even allowed that or if that was really what was going on. I have never found this event again, but what a cool idea that was.

I also thought Burning Life Festival was interesting.

I seemed to have a lot more fun when everything was new. There were more crowds around. More outgoing people. Maybe they were just more willing to interact with a hapless newb.

my own arcade (playing things like whack a mole, zombie meltdown, etc
also other arcades (not the stuff with zingo and such)

I have to second that........ Zyngo etc...I just don't get..... but Rhaorth has great games in her arcade and everything looks really authentic too...

I'm addicted to 'Phrase Invaders'..... Just a quick question Rhaorth....who comes up with the phrases....they're hillarious..

And I also agree with the other posters.... any place can be great fun if you're sharing it with someone....

In the hiearchy of sinners, there are the lowest; the noob griefers, drunken sots and "woot" spammers. Then there are the jerks and a-holes; the mean poeple. The greedy and lustful next, followed by the evil and power hungery. Topping them are the meschievious tricksters followed by the rare few who are only described as "deliciously wicked." Standing alone and unchallanged at the top you will find Cherry Czervik.

*ahem*

ACTUALLY you won't. I am disgracefully well behaved and I'm extremely definitely a one-man woman - I just find amusement in many things, but thank you for the compliment!

I'm just brazen enough to admit that it's funny PLUS I am at work so I am wasting time in this Forum instead of doing something constructive in SL :D

I do not see anything after "yesterday:" unless I quote your message, so:

Oh, and I haven't seen anyone at the hangout in a long time.

the most fun??
02-15-2008 23:40
well, this is a can of worms to open.

fun for me can be a bore for others.

But as a newbie of 3 months, I find BOWLING at splitsville fun.

The bumper cars, and train ride at the amusement park.
(oh yes the submarine ride there too)

Water ski at Eternal Creations island.

like another said previous, things we can DO is better than just Walking around and
sight seeing.

but now, at 3 months I'm finding this too is getting boring...amusement park alone...
bumper cars with myself? Though I took a friend avi on the train ride, that was fun.

I joined for a specific group activity and that activity has not really TAKEN OFF as yet and so I'm stagnate waiting for the group to get moving and lets do this. RPG or whatever we are to do here in SL.

OMG I haven't been SL bowling forever! I thought that was so fun when I first found it too.

I also found a really awesome waterslide and bumper-boat set-up once, too bad that sim isn't there anymore. I had a blast riding the bumperboats, and even more fun when I realized I could drive them up onto the beach and run over all the campers on beach towels there. I have some really awsome pictures somewhere of me topless careening over zombies. If that isn't fun I don't know what is! (It was a clothing optional beach, I am not some whorish type. :) )

The Velvet

I love hanging out at The Velvet, eventually interesting and funny people show up and the conversations are very witty. One night two tinnies and a Tiger showed up and made me laugh. If no one drops in I still enjoy changing outfits and watching myself dance to the Indie music. The dances there are so over the top and exuberant it always cheers me up.

The Best Boxing In Sl...averlast Boxing
02-18-2008 10:46
One of my favorite places to visit in SL is Averlast Boxing.
The boxing fighting system is inexpensive and defintely a challenge, which is fun to learn and the more you box with it, the more you come to love it! Averlast offers gloves, trunks and even mouth guards to make the experience real and enjoyable as possible. The peope there are fun to hang with and it has the feel of a RL boxing gym so i say check out Averlast Boxing gym!!
