For some reason after being in version 1.16 for a few minutes (2-3 mins) SL will just close. No crash, no "This program has stopped responding.", no "Would you like to file a crash report.". It just closes.

Yeah, me too. I can't get it to run for more than maybe 10 minutes.
Fun to play with until then, but essentially useless. . _____________________

After further testing it seems to happen almost exactly every 5 minutes for me.

It's crasherrific!
Be sure to send in the crash reports, and file bug reports in the inworld bug reporter when you log back on, if you can get them filed before it crashes again, and to file bug reports in jira.secondlife.com. Hopefully Jira won't crash. _____________________

Hopefully Jira won't crash. I would send in the crash reports, but it doesn't detect it as a crash so it doesn't prompt me to. ![]() Would make an interesting Jira entry though: Steps to reproduce: 1. Use 1.16 client. 2. Wait. ![]() _____________________

Flexi prims on the beta grid does not work properly. It will crash you and if you are lucky enough to not crash it will crash others. Take off your flex stuff as soon as you log in. Also if anyone near you have flex on it will crash you too.

Do a fresh download of the beta client. There was a compile error. Milo recompiled and it fixed the flex prim problem.

Milo fixed part of the problem, apparently, but not all of it.
I've had the one he released, and crashed a zillion times with it, and so have others, and I downloaded it again today, just in case, and installed fresh video card drivers, just in case, and it's crashing now almost instantly. _____________________

Ditto SuezanneC. I gave up after 7 sucessive crashes. I have a very vanilla (and good) rig of Windows XP, dual core and NVidia 7900 with 2 GB RAM and even crashing with that so I am sure I'm not the only one. _____________________

Hoping for more information on this...still crashing endlessly for me. I turned everything down, cleared cache, detached all objects and turned off flexis. No joy

Yeah, I redownloaded Milo's version just to be sure and the problem is still there. From what I've experienced: if there's nobody with flexiprims near me it doesn't crash at all. If I teleport to an area where flexiprims already are I crash within 5-10 minutes. If I turn flexiprims off through the debug menu and someone rezes one I crash instantly. If flexiprims are on and someone rezes on I crash within 0-2 minutes. Also note that I've never had problems with the flexiprims displaying incorrectly, they always appear as they should, but they crash the viewer.

Kevin - I reopened this issue on Jira here. There is some indication this crash is fixed in 1.16.01 but I may be wrong. You can vote on the issue there.

Is 1.16.0.1 out yet? Milo's version is still 1.16.0.0 just with a different build time.

If you're having trouble logging into 1.16, try logging into a region with very few objects in it like Miramare Bay.

The only time I was able to spend any amount of time without crashing was when I went to a nearly empty sim and it stayed nearly empty. Oh, and I had to remove all my flexiprims, which was a bit difficult since the first dozen times or so that I logged in, I was in flight with my flexible wings wagging in the breeze, and unable to remove them before crashing.
Even staying away from other objects, if there were flexiprims anywhere in the sim, it seemed to get to me eventually and I'd crash. |

I never actually "saw" anything flexi so I am not convinced that's what's causing the crashing every time. Though I guess if my draw distance is 128+ my viewer is potentially seeing things that my eyeballs can't. Still, I am not convinced it's only a flexi issue. No, 1.16.01 is not out yet unless that's what they're calling Milo's fix, which isn't a fix

It's still crashing and still displaying "primbeams" , what looks like rays or light shooting out from prims, or sometimes the beams shoot out from nothing.

I just gave up as I can't stay in no matter where I log in. I'll try it again if they release an updated beta viewer. I am still not convinced it's just a flexi issue - as I don't see any flexis before I crash and am not wearing any either.

Still crashing, and the crash reporter isn't running at all.

Anyone know when the de-crashed next version of the Aditi beta will appear?

I've been lead to believe that the crash problem in 1.16 concerns flexible prims.
Turning off rendering for flexible prims does not stop the crashing. "Prim-beams" still appear. _____________________
