YadNi Monde has said of Shivar that it is his masterpiece, his greatest build in SL. The Shivar build is in several parts, including the City and Cathedral of Mt. St Michel in Peril of the Sea, Shivar Village, Shops, and Tavern, The Shivar Mill and Distillery, with working parts and sound, and the wilderness of the Snowy Mountains, Beach, and Swamps, which contain workshops. Shivar is welcoming and affirming of all persons and all cultures. The Cathedral is available for weddings and other events, as are the grounds. Shivar uses DJs from Enigma for its events.
Other builds i enjoy very much are:
Island of Tyros for its gardens and animated water life such as frogs Blacklibrary Ivory Tower

From: Hamlet Linden -- arguably *the* most essential aspect of SL-- "arguably" being the key word there But, seriously folks.... Is anyone nominating the impermanent structures of the Sandbox Denizens? Kind of a hint that they are of a very different category than the semipermanent structures that exist for regular visitation.

I nominate Serenity Falls
03-07-2006 08:23
I would like to add Serenity Falls (208,162) to the list of nominees. It creates a wonderful atmosphere of nature with sounds, plants, and tranquility, and presents some unique builds of old-time cottages. It also has excellent fountains and pools that capture the feel of ancient Greece & Rome. Want a beach? There is also the seaside with waves, underwater plants and fish, boats to sail, steel drums to play, barbecue, and a rainforest and tropical oasis! This sim has captured my heart & spirit!

Julia is a wonderful person all the way around.... She's just the greatest. But not only is she a wonderful person But her land is just beautiful. I know I just felt so at home there and Oh my it's soooo beautiful. The words evade me when it comes to her land. Not enough words can describe it. I'm a wedding planner and she allowed me to hold a wedding there. And it just made it that much better. I like going there I will go often. Hugggs and Luvvvs Sav

The Great Northern Wall impressed the heck out of me when I stumbled across it whilst flying around randomly one day, then decided to fly down its length ... on the inside.
Sadly, I was just there earlier, and at least part of its length has been blatantly commercialized since the last time I saw it.
And it's Linden created, as far as I know, so I'm not sure it should count (it'd be harder for users to set up that huge swath of land...)
Err. As far as the sim coords go ... there are lots. it runs along the southwest quadrant of the continent, near the central lake.

I agree the Great Wall is grandiously fantastic and is a good candidate... Here are the coordinates, to one of the entrances, for anyone wanting a peek. Tyta (231, 239, 114) When I checked a moment ago, someone was building something right next to this site however it will get you into the area, and it goes for many SL-miles. Enjoy, Tai

You know what, now that I know there's a similar project already in the works by Sable, I'm gonna step back from doing anything related to "Seven Wonders of SL" until I hear from her. HOWEVER, I do plan to visit the sites nominated here as possible "New World SLURLS".

Serenity Falls I'm impressed by a lot in SL, and I've seen a lot, but rarely am I stunned into speechlessness as I was over Serenity Falls. It's quite simply The most beautiful place I've seen in world. The textures are wonderful, the sounds soothing, the layout incredible. The for-sale objects are gorgeous and are actually affordable, even for someone with no L$ income. I got to speak with the owner for a few moments the other day, and again, was completely impressed by how friendly and helpful she was. If I could nominate one place 7 times, this would be the place. Nostalgia kicks in and insists that I also nominate (the region of) Welsh. Welsh is like one of The Mother Countries to a lot of us old-timers. Although BBC's old complex (with my tower) is ancient history, he has a wonderful new build there. Steller's Beanstalk still climbs high. There's just so much history in old Welsh, it would be a shame to not have it included. #!

My nomination is...
03-14-2006 18:45
Looks I missed the deadline, but I would still like to nominate the beautiful waterworks created by Miss Luna Bliss. It is an amazing waterfall sculpture entitled: The Three Sisters, and it is located at the island: Alexandria, located at: 89,124,58.
"The Three Sisters" Three waterfalls: *The largest waterfall starting at the highest ridge with connecting streams along the top of the ridge that marry into the two smaller falls. *All three waterfalls decend and connect, to meet again behind the Bali House (created by Mr. Jack Feaver), then flow under the house and out to the sea. The water flows and sprays gently as the sound of the falls and the ocean surround you.
Stone pathways take you on a wonderful scenic journey. Walk slowly and enjoy every vista. There is mossy rock everywhere, and everything is lush and green and flowering all around.
The sound of the water calms you, the landscape pleases your eyes, the birds and intimate settings make you feel at home. Luna also created a delicate but generous use of soft lighting that makes the falls particularly lovely at night.
My sister and I are deeply honored to have met Luna and we want you all to see this breathtaking work of art. Come often, tread lightly.
Shy & Diablo

From: Salem Penguin I think this is a very well done, prominant, and humourous build that has been around for quite a while.
Blue (25,179) Seconded! This was original in the Hawthorne sim, next to the first land I ever owned. Also: SVARGA! 'nuf said. Regards, -FlipperPA

This List is a year old... Any new suggestions?
06-14-2007 13:40
This topic was started over a year ago. Some areas have improved and few, unfortunately, have faded in their appeal. Any great new additions would be appreciated and would be great for sending new folks to. I'd like to start with "Bodhi", a peaceful island based around the many traditions of Buddhism.
Come, wander around and enjoy. Tai
