LOL, I just wanna know how they are getting their sky platforms to stay put! I tried to build one on my own land, and no matter what I did, it would always scurry over to 0.0.0 all by itself.

Hmm, I also wonder if this may be why I was down to just 26 prims, the other day. When I returned other-owned objects, I had over 300 again...

No real solutions?

I guess after posting and reading the other posts no one has any real solutions to prim thieves and prim poaching. I was kind of hoping to alert everyone to the very real problem and maybe come up with solutions that do not require everything being put to a group.

Hopefully someone will come along with a solution.

You have 2 solutions. Return and delete.

It's a big problem for land that has many authorized builders, and apartment complex for instance. None of the auto-return buttons are very effective, short of making sure every person who is authorized is a member of a group, and that they all use that group when building.

The politeness factor of these two vary. If you find 100 unlinked objects, it can be cool to return that mess to the culprits inventory and let them sort it all out. Deleting it can sometimes be considered a favor.
One time someone spammed Gray with about 200 plywood cubes. I spent about 5-6 minutes returning them, one and two at a time, just so that the guy would get a ton of "Your object (x) has been returned" messages when he logged in. Plus a ton of crap in his Objects folder, of course.

The solution I use, which I know won't work for everyone, is to set my land to autoreturn after 4 hours. It is still kind to people with vehicles or that want to rez something but doesn't take away from my prims.

It would be nice if the owner of a property could define a list of users allowed to build on that property. Kind of like setting an access list except that it is for build permission instead of access. Right now it seems you either allow anyone to build, or allow noone (but yourself) to build.

Another good land-owner tool would be to selectively return user x's objects, instead of just returning everyone's objects.

Yes we run into this as well

On JAVA we run into the same problem. It's like taking out the trash every day!

We try to group things as much as possible, but since you can only have one group on a plot, you end up with several builders using the same group.

We really need to be able to specify 3-5 groups per parcel, or be able to specify who can build (similar to the Access list).
