Yes, the avatar formerly known as Merwan Marker is stepping down as the head of Awakening Avatars and various other philanthropies in the next couple of days.
Merwan was one of the first (and most significant) contributors to SL and he will be sorely missed by those of us who knew him.
He will be immersing himself in other, development stage MMORGs.
I wish Merwan the best in whatever endeavors he undertakes next.
Farewell, my friend, farewell!

Umm, I was referring to the idea of Merwan leaving. billy. Merwan has contributed loads to the community as a whole and if this is true he will be missed terribly.

If this is true, I'm very sad about this; however I hope he 'retires' within game and plays mah-jongg with me .

Where's he going? I'm looking for a virtual world that's a little more open to being that true virtual world as opposed to just being a corporation.

I was thinking the same as Dnate - did he ask you to post about his retirement Jamie?

Alexa Merwan said that he was planning on withdrawing from SecondLife to pursue other development stage MMORGs. He will probably stop in now and again to SL, but overall, his philonthropic concerns in SL appear to be at an end. I'm sure he would appreciate an IM from you to let him know he will be missed.

if this is true, it's a sure thing he will be missed. It has been sad to see his frustration levels steadily rise here in the forums when it comes to Second Life.

Wherever Merwan is going, and whatever he is doing, (whether it be staying in SL full or part-time, or looking for greener pastures) I wish him the very best of luck. Merwan has been an inspiration for a lot of folks in SL, and I hope that his legacy carries on whether he's here or pioneering newer worlds. Keep in touch and let us know how your exploration goes, Merwan!

No offense Jamie, but unless Merwan makes the announcement I choose to believe otherwise.

MJ Indeed. Hense why I didn't bother responding to the OP. I take this all as some ruse. Perhaps because of Merwan's statements on the Land and Economy forum. So I focused on another important issue. Ulrika Nakie!

I vote for the doll parts!! Merwan please clear this up. I am distraught with the worry that this could even possibly be true.

From: Lecktor Hannibal Merwan please clear this up. I am distraught with the worry that this could even possibly be true. Having followed Merwan's last participation in the forum, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that he does not intend to pay this or any other thread a visit. Not saying that I agree or disagree with any of the comments which were made there, just that it's not hard to figure out where Merwan's head is at right now. I think it is likely that the OP of this thread did so because Merwan was unlikely to let you know of his withdrawal himself. It's been said plenty of times that people who are really leaving don't talk about it, they just do it.
