Now that my Mod priviledges have been removed, I feel more comfortable posting now after resigning. With that being said, I have some things to say. First thing is my orginal post in this thread. I said some things that were harsh as pointed out by some of the replies and that is by saying everyone is bitching and was attacking us like a pack of wolves. I apologize to anyone who I offended by saying this. Clearly posting right after having to hold back for a few days wasn't the right thing to do. Since my orginal post, I've had some correspondence with Jeska and it was pointed out that there was a direct personal attack made that we probably didn't see before the thread was nuked. I don't know what that was but if she felt it was justified then it was. However, this was in no way the ResMods fault. This was noticed by Jeska and not pointed out to her by anyone. After all the drama, I still support the ResMod program. Do I regret leaving? No. Why? because I'm too opinionated to play nice when I really want to say what is on my mind. The job simply was not for me. No other excuses just that. My support for the ResMod program will remain and I truely wish the other mods the best of luck, its not an easy job. It is also my intentions to try to post more constructively and positively to hopefully make their job just a lil bit easier and maybe a little more enjoyable for all readers. Of course, I did say its my "intentions", don't hold me to that. Sometimes, I can get a hot head like the rest of ya. Well, some of you have seen it, but we are all human heh. MJ

My 2 cents I think for any exclusive program you will find that some portion of the opposition are motivated by jealousy. This is very true. However that shouldn't be enough grounds to dismiss legitimate criticism of a bad idea, especially when some of the nominated people like Catherine Omega are among the critics. She is hardly jealous!

My 2 cents I agree with the Pretty Aces. I'm sick of hearing the bitching about the ResMods. How many threads do we need on this now? I volunteered and didn't get chosen and I admit I was more than a bit put off that people who didn't volunteer on purpose and people who weren't even aware of the opportunity got chosen. I know that I would have been a fair mod as I have modded other places before but seeing the numerous posts of disdain, I'm glad I wasn't chosen. Maybe once things die down and there is a smoother system in place, then maybe I will volunteer again, who knows. I don't know you MJ but according to Aces you were excited about this and I feel bad that it wasn't what you hoped it would be.

From: Nolan Nash Yeah, is this thread going to be moved for review now? Personally, I can't see why it would be? No TOS violations from anyone yet (but do correct me if I'm wrong!). I think this is a passionate issue, and there are people on both sides and in the middle when it comes to their thoughts on this issue. Just please be sure not to personally attack anyone in this thread so it does not get closed. The Notices and Well Wishes forums is often filled with happy and sad things. It is a great forum to let out some feelings (within the TOS). I'd hate to see that change!

She's like a mama protecting her cub. <3 Something I knew before hand was that everything new that happens in SL gets complaints/rants/"bitching". Once all the kinks get smoothed out, I'm confident that this recent change with the forums will be one that we can all live with. Like I said before, no matter what excuse I try to make...like blaming the attacks or the faults within the program itself, the real main reason was that I didn't like having to be someone I am not, if that makes any sense. I can be a real nice person or a not so nice person. Having to be restricted from not being so nice and to sound robotic so to speak didn't appeal to me. Why I didn't think it would be different before I volunteered is beyond me. In the end, I have no hard feelings toward anyone or the ResMod program. MJ

ResMods do not have the ability to edit individual posts. We can only move threads and issues words that try to steer things in the right direction. One option we have is to move the thread into a special Linden forum where it will be reviewed by a Linden, moderated if needed, and *then* placed back. What this means is: A thread that is for the most part "ok" runs the risk of being put on hold for a few hours up to a day or so due to only one post that is seriously a TOS Violation. As a ResMod, I'd much rather try and help steer the thread back on solid ice, than see it have to go through all that.

I'm sorry you had to go through all this MJ you is a fine upstanding forum poster and have always been awesome to read in the forums....its unfortunate that LL threw all the new resmods ( which are all good people in my book ) to the wolves as sacrificial lambs As for Jeska pointing out any personal attacks ...well she's wrong and no one from LL will explain their actions...I never made a personal attack against anyone in that thread period much less a direct personal attack....this is what ticks me off about LL....do they really believe there werent a bunch of us that saw that thread to the end? There were a minimum of four resmods responding and watching it too....funny how so many people missed this direct personal attack and yet Jeska found it... From: MJ Hathor Since my orginal post, I've had some correspondence with Jeska and it was pointed out that there was a direct personal attack made that we probably didn't see before the thread was nuked. Meh I had a whole thread removed dude you got some catching up to do hehehe As for me - I like the people on the list - I just don't like the whole idea. There was no consistancy before, and even less now. I'm not going to be 'for' the idea just because I happen to like a lot of ppl on the list of who they chose. My friends poo smells just as bad as mine.

Some of the people on the selection list are either very close friends or people I have the utmost respect, admiration, and fondness for. I am thrilled for any of their successes. My issues are with the program.

I should pat attention more... So we both got nuked...nice I don't like the fact that they brought in good people to do a dirty job and rushed them into it like sacrificial lambs. Knowing full well that there has never been much of anything close to criteria towards posting and abuse reports. The fact that one person can AR a thread or post repeatedly in and of itself is reason enough for LL step back and look at this debacle. From: Aimee Weber My issues are with the program. And that is the key! Trust me when I say the concerns are being discussed. Not just by ResMods but by various Lindens as well. The feedback on the program is really great, and my honest hope is that it will ease concerns and set some better guidelines that will address forum concerns that have been around for a very long time! Disclaimer: 100% of the people will NOT be pleased or displeased by the outcome.

I'm certain they are going to work really hard to solve the forum problems that spawned this ResMod program in such a way that it doesn't evoke so much sadness from the users.

From: Reitsuki Kojima I think charactarizing the critics of this as "bitching, whiny wolves" who "must be stopped" before they "[hurt] the whole community" is a little harsh, ne? Its a poor tactic, isnt it? Attempting to diminish a concern by characterizing it in away that belittles the individual is a tactic used when logic and thought fail. Its much easier to call a name and hurl a crass insult than address a point, isnt it. Chip made the point that we are all adults here, but sometimes I wonder about the conduct I see. I dont know adults in my first life who call one another names and insult the way we see it in forum posts. Well some of my most hostile clients who are in the middle of nasty divorce act that way to one another, and thats about it. I would not want to know adults who gang up on one person and bully them... who would. In my first life those who become frustrated and curse and call another a name or hurl insults are usually kids. Kids.

Thanks for your input katykiwi and I agree with you and that is why I posted an apology on page 2 of this thread Where are you from btw, cause in my first life, most the people that I know that curse and call people by name are adults. Not sayin its mature...oh no don't get me wrong there, but definitely not kids. MJ
