Did I miss a big Linden announcement about a change with released land?
Edit: Oh, maybe they're selling it in bigger pieces now. I need to go look again

Edit: No, something is definitely strange

Just saw a strange thing in Ambleside. Public land (green, not white in view owners). Belongs to "nobody" But L$100 per m2.

Chance Small had set all of his 16m2 land in various sims for sale at $1600 before he was to leave the game. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with it, but the price/m2 and the small parcel size both ring a bell.

This was about 2K of contigous land that was public for $100/m2 LOL. It's now owned by Char Linden with "ON HOLD" as its name.

Juro is correct, its the legacy of this rather bitter individual whose free ride was eventually derailed by Linden Lab after popular outcry. |

I wonder if this is where this is where Hank Ramos got his his massive amount of 16sm parcels if not his motivation for pricing it. Close to 1700 sm in 80 sims is being auctioned in the Land Sales forum and the latest bid is $23,000. A generous offer mae by Anshe of $10 per sm to buy the parcels for distribution to neighbors in the effected sims has been passed on.

Any and all persons who buy and sell 16m squares are contributing to griefing of other players and I advocate the Lindens seizing this land and just putting a tree on it or something.

Anyone who employs run on sentences is contributing to griefing of other players and I strongly advocate that the Lindens break their fingers. It's fun to write ridiculous non sequiturs, isn't it Prokofy? 16 sq meter parcels have many benign purposes, including allowing for innovative cross-grid projects in communication, transportation, and commercialization. Since LSL restricts certain functions to agents that are in the same sim and other functions to a small radius, a 16 sq meter parcel in every sim would be the only way to cover the entire grid. Of course, these ideas don't immediately benefit your own business, and so they should never be entertained. After all, us tekkie wikkie types don't matter in your worldview of picket fences and suburban banality. |

After all, us tekkie wikkie types don't matter in your worldview of picket fences and suburban banality *Rolls eyes*. Run-on sentences aren't a violation of the TOS LOL. Geez, I love how the "creative" come up with specious arguments citing non-existing "innovative cross-grid projects in communication" to justify the "right" of griefers to use 16ms. 16ms are by and large used for griefing. I've never seen them purchased by people in a sim, i.e. those needed just a few prims or a sign. I've almost never seen them purchased for a benign commercial sign period. Instead, I've seen them abused by characters like Chance Small. So I've urged that the Lindens seize them. Because this fake idea that there are all these artists and innovative communicators out there innovatively using the 16ms is utter hogwash. Geez, I thought we put paid to your assanine idea that I have a worldview of "picket fences and suburban banality". Go over to that thread and review my response to your tripe. If the 16m is so innovative and creative, how come Hank Ramos isn't making a buck off those ideas provided by such sterling artistic types like yourself, instead of trying to auction them off and getting what amounts to griefer insurance? Anyone could see that 16ms are a potential resource for advertising in this game. I'd like to use them for that purpose. But they haven't been rationally deployed for that purpose. Instead they are taken for griefing. And the one "micro baron" who has bunches of them and could do something "creative," Hank Ramos, is auctioning them off as griefer insurance. _____________________

Well, if you are going to be accused of the crime, you might as well commit it!
![]() Okay, all of my 16sqm blocks of land (which I intended to use for intersim projects) are now set at L$1600 each. Buy them while you can at the cheap, low price! ![]() |

But they haven't been rationally deployed for that purpose. Instead, you advocate abolishing the free market and siezing these parcels for use in your white picket fenced operation. There. I fixed your statement. |

Much like the belligerent filth you spew forth day after day? The endless tirades of infantile logic, hyperbole, rhetoric, and hypocrisy? The endless threads in which you are repeatedly corrected, yet persist in spreading lies and promulgating your own egocentrical agenda? The endless waste of electrons in which you constantly marginalize elements of our community because they don't do exactly what you do? The endless fight against the FIC, tekkie-wikkies, micro-Barons, and the other figments of your delusion? You, Prokofy Neva, are everything that is wrong with this world. Your ridiculous desire to mold the world into a suburban utopia in your image must stop. We are given a world of infinite malleability, and all you want to do is build white picket fences around everyone you disagree with. It's a shame, really. |

suburban utopia ROFLMAO I dunno, only some of my communities look like suburbia, others don't. Why don't you talk to your friend Maxx Monde about Boardman and suburbia? Um...I didn't see you buying Hank's micro-baron empire and um...implementing that innovative new communications project? Well? _____________________

Any and all persons who buy and sell 16m squares are contributing to griefing of other players and I advocate the Lindens seizing this land and just putting a tree on it or something. There are plenty of non-griefer reasons why there are 16m2 plots dotting the landscape and most have ZERO to do with griefing. I suspect you'll find a higher % of these types of plots in the older sims as land is bought/sold over and over and people carve it up to serve the need of thier tier. But, 'any and all persons' who buy them griefers? Puh-leeze. _____________________

"My Ass" was a 16 x 16 plot... Home of the Smellovision....
If I had more of em I'd probably do a mainland simwide version of the C.L.I.T Ring... (think monorail meets rollercoaster) -- that would be a pretty cool. _____________________

Any and all persons who buy and sell 16m squares are contributing to griefing of other players and I advocate the Lindens seizing this land and just putting a tree on it or something. ANY and ALL persons??? I think not. When you paint with such a large brush, you end up spattered and messy. I purchased a 16m square that is now happily snuggled into the rest of the land I own in the sim. I was quite happy to see it come up for sale and snapped it up right quick. I have no plans to grief, annoy, spoil the view of or in any other way disturb other players through the ownership of this 16m square. And now, just for spite, I am NOT going to put a tree on it. *hrmph* |
