what happens if you sit on a chair in reallife?

anyone can move you around (push). for me, a second-life should physically be like the first life.

What happens when you fly in reallife? What happens when a reallife knife wielding griefer demands your cash and you try to teleport home?... :D

ooohhkkaaayyy!! however this is my thread, and its about unsitting people.

so quit talking about other features :)

1: I'd love those features, I'd hate yours

2: You asked him for things that would make SL better, he provided

3: You've posted this into a public forum its not "your thread"

4: If you want this, script your chairs so it happens, if being able to be pushed about more is going to put the kick back into SL for you, by all means do it for yourself.. Please do not try to impose it on others who CLEARLY don't want it..

you can't fly in real life? damn, sorry to hear it. When a reallife knife wielding griefer demands my cash, I give him plastic. I tried teleporting home once, but I ran into a wall. it hurt.

Just have all avatars die immediately upon login. Why go half-way?

because that would be the Lindens killing them. Then it's not my world, my imagination. I want to kill them, imaginatively.

I bought his shield. Version 2.1. But i wont be upgrading it cuz it costs money to upgrade, and theres a new version out every time i visit. I'm actually working on my own shield... Your best bet is to do the same! LSL isn't hard to learn.

i know its annoying to be pushed around... BUT!
if you sit in real life, anyone can push you!
why are you in a fixed position when you sit in second life?

Sion, please excuse me that I didn't point out earlier that this is totally BS. I mean, the thread. Either you're not thinking it seriously, or you belong in the teen grid IMHO.

Oh, and...

In real life, sentences start with a CAPITAL LETTER.
And in real life, people wouldn't listen to your sillyness as long as they do in these forums :-)

hey rickard, what's up ;)

however,
it would be cool to unsit people if you bump/push them. this would make SL more funny to me :)
id laugh if i fall from a couch if someone pushes me.

but maybe people tend to keep psychological control, else they would get anxious.

lazy people DO NOT start sentences with capital letters, especially if their native language isnt english.

my silliness in honour - thank you dear silliness, for the regular money income.

:)

if you're missing the kick from SL and want it to be more like RL, try playing RL for a bit!
Man, if I was in the habit of quoting people in my sigfile, that would go right in there. Gave me a chuckle, that did. :)

Hey, when the last hurricane was heading for Houston, I really wished I could rez up plywood in RL as easily as I could in SL. :)

Except I get in trouble in RL when I go around pushing people out of chairs. It perplexes me greatly.

It isn't funny to those of us who don't come here for combat. Some of us come here to be constructive, socialize, fantisize, roleplay, and go clubbing. I say keep the combat in the combat sims (Or go play WoW, CS, or ShadowBane). I am thankfull that you made the sion shield, but it isnt 100% effective. Only sitting will do that. I dont like people sending me 1000 meters away from my friends. To me thats just childish and retarded. I consider it an exploit of the crappy physics engine we have to put up with. Which is why im creating non physical vehicles. It is also why i am voting on these 2 props.

Also when you push people out of chairs IRL they dont get flung hundreds/throusands of meters away... Unless you push them with a nuclier warhead. and not many people have those IRL. atleast not that i know of. >.>

Possible Solution?
01-20-2006 12:27
OK.. how about this... a standing animation that depicts you as sitting (so push still affects you) .. and a sitting animation where you are standing (so push does not affect you).

This thread is like TOTALLY ANCIENT! Well anyway..

You can make push chairs, and you can chose to sit in them, the majority of people don't want them tho :p

To start a sentence with 'And' is not generally taught as it is most often used as a coordinating conjunction, but (another coordinating conjuction) using 'And' is gramatically allowed to begin a sentence.

Children carry forward into adulthood the notion from schooling that a sentence should never begin with a coordinating conjunction, especially not with "and" or "but." However, professional writers have started sentences with coordinating conjunctions throughout history.

** Cases in point include, but are not limited to, Hemingway, Sedaris, Kerouac, Fitzgerald, etc... **

And now, without further ado, who would like some figgy pudding?

lol professional writers are not particularly good grammarians historically either. The tone is frequently more important than technical correctness.

I suspect you only want this, because you think you will be selling more shields.

Yeah, important thing to point out here Sion Zaius is maker of the Sion Shield. Frankly, next to worthless against most push weaponry (c4, Entrophy's Oblivion, psiTEC's Orbit). But it is pretty when the intercepts get triggered by passing avatars :p

I'm for keeping sit-safety because as has been pointed out by so many people, without it you're left with no reliable way to safe yourself against push-weapon trolls. What on earth "good" can come of this, really? Consider for a moment if you simply had no way to protect yourself, reliably. We already have enough points of exploit in the system such as "land theft", which LL will not support justice on.

In fact, heres something for LL to consider before they think that this, for realism factors, might be a good idea.
ABUSE REPORT. You will be _swamped_, because suddenly all the people who used to just sit down and ignore attackers will be getting grief and going to you for help. Somehow I don't think you want anything else adding to the strain on management & policing.

I don't have to be a know it all when writers handbooks such as MLA, APA, Chicago/Turabian, Harvard, CGOS, CBE are around to affirm my comments on starting a sentence using the word "And".

Additionally, Mr. Sion, the old adage is it usually takes one to know so on that premise thank you for affirming your comments about a "know it all" status as well.

:)

Patricia O'Conner, author of 'Woe Is I', says, "It's been common practice to begin sentences with them (and & but) since at least as far back as the tenth century. But don't overdo it, or your writing will sound monotonous".

- Calix

p.s. - Sion, were you just insulting me or were you showing me that your younger years of "know it all" did not include the applications of grammar as seen by your post? ;)
