From: someone Originally posted by Kris Ritter Yes. Careless people like you are a hazard to avatars everywhere. I hope this is sarcasm. I would hardly call that act "careless". It is not carelessness, but human error and UI unintuitiveness that causes people to mistype a coordinate into the edit window.

i hope it was sarcasm as well. I build by numbers; I don't know why more people don't (i do the calculations out to 3 decimal places too ) But with the occasioinal typo has sent prims fly in all directions. Then there is the issue of scripts that move prims across multiple sims & followers.

I only do sarcasm. But its more fun to watch people get all uppity when you dont include a tongue out smiley. Hopefully some will turn into flamewars and personal attacks as a result. fun.

From: someone "I want to let Foo Avatar build here, but not Group Bar. They're all banned."
So you're saying this whole thread is Foobar? heheh Let me put in my analysis: ======== Problem: People leave crap everywhere. Already in place: Landowners can return all items that are not theirs, or not in the land's group. Also the delete-items feature. Proposed solution: Create a complicated system to tax people for creating prims (including gun bullets) with a whole bunch of options and features. Consequence: Lots of work for Lindens to waste their time on while they could be adding new features. Previous system showed lots of bugs so there's no guarantee the new one would work. Alternate solutions: 1. Make your land no build. 2. Make your land delete objects after 30 or so minutes. 3. Make land group-create only. 4. Send a polite IM to the owner of the object and ask them nicely to remove the item themself (if it's in public land) 5. File an abuse report on "crap" and include a screenshot of the object in question. (if 4 doesn't work) We're all adults in SL (or so the EULA requires) - so let's simply treat each other as adults before we result to some complicated rules that will likely be broken and will add to server lag. -Hiro Pendragon Serving SL from Varney 200,200

Let's behave now...

Decent issue was brought up with object litter...
As a 'newbie', I appreciate the sentiment for an opportunity to build- If enough folks pressure or forum about such topics there
As for the 'getting money's worth from Linden' statement, it is necessary to realize this particular platform as a potential tipping point for immersive virtual environments vs some sort of gaming system/insult contest amusement park. Linden conspiracy references?, anything is possible - then again, it appears at this point that the initial 15,000 members have a good amount of influence on the evolution.
As we and the platform (or it's substitute, should that happen) are constantly evolving, there is a potential for a bit more than sh*ts and giggles or the 'figurative bad kid at the playground disparity'...(I hope!).
See you In, EO
