Who are we all kidding. Sl is responsable for any happings going on in there game. It seems werid they would say theres nothing they can do. they have all the power and all they would have to do is kick these people out suspend there account, thats what all other games do if you dont fallow the rules. It is sad so many people put there cash into a game then the game allows other memebers to take advantage of each other. I think in retrospect whats going to end up happening is all that will be left are the thief's and guess what then there will be no more Sl. Thats a shame.

With over 100,000 avatars, which I'm guessing means there is at least 15,000 unique users, and considering there is maybe a handful of these wonderful threads a year, I wouldn't say that it's a rampant problem that takes place "over and over and over" again, like you suggest. Again, my point is, there are plenty of other things that LL could be focusing on, instead of redoing the UI to hand hold the handful of players that don't take the time to figure out the tools first.
Invalid statistical extrapolation.

Yes, you've only seen a few such posts and therefore that must represent the universe of occurrences. You are ignoring the ones that weren't posted about, and the ones that were resolved through perhaps a buy-back with added cost which weren't worth complaining about, or the ones that happened and caused the accidental parcel loser to simply give up.

Try doing a stint on live-help to get a more representative sample than these forums give you, or ask a live helper.

Argue all you want that your text editor shouldn't warn you prior to exit-without-save and that doesn't make it good UI design. Stupid users! If they can't learn to use the tools they deserve the consequences.

Interestingly enough, the solution was arrived at through vigilante tactics. While technically a violation of the ToS/CS, I'm really glad the player used the only recourse available to them.

I keep thinking about this issue (& posted in a different thread about my own bad experience) and can't help but think some layers of safeguard need to be put into place, primarily because when dealing with land we're dealing with fairly serious money.

When I try to move a pair of $300L shoes to my inventory, I'm given the option to be "really sure" I want to do it.

When I send an abandoned bit of property back to the owner who has left it on my land, I'm given the option to be "really sure" I want to do it.

When I change my appearance, I'm given the opportunity to be "really sure" I want to do it.

Well, when dealing with land, a whole lot more than $300L is at stake. What's wrong with asking me if I'm "really sure", then "really, really sure", then "really really really sure" I understand and intend to do what I think I'm doing...
