Well, I know how frusterating it can get when trying to move your windows all around to be able to see the object you are scripting, so I thought maybe a simple UI Window Opacity setting would be nice. Just be able to right click the current window you are working in, and set the opacity on a meter from 10% - 100%. Also maybe an option to have it stay for just that window's lifetime, or ALWAYS even next time you open that type of window (Scripting window, edit window, preferences, etc.).

I think a properly designed way of setting window opacity and showing only the topmost window of overlapping windows would be a great benefit.
While waiting for a more flexible interface to be created, you can set a number of aspects of the interfaces colors in a filed called colors.ini. You might want to look at /invalid_link.html That thread show's Neil Protagonist's file with some transparency in the dialog boxes and such. There is another thread with Oz Spade's colors.ini file with transparent dialogs at /13/b9/27246/1.html If only Second Life would make only the topmost dialog be displayed over the world and make the parts of windows below the topmost be completely tranparent, that is , not displayed at all where they are below the topmost window, the almost invisible window background system would totally rock. As it is, you see the entire stack of overlapping windows, which means that you can't read the topmost window where it overlaps because you can see the windows below it in the overlap region, creating a chaotic mess. _____________________

Wow some heavy stuff there,
![]() Hate to say it, but Sony did it well with Everquest, and did it even better in Everquest II. If EQ can do it, I think one of the most customizable games in existance can do it. . . |

Is it just me (and my room mate) or does EQ2 suck?
What was it....18 people of all levels on all servers that were LFG and the people he ran into completely unwilling to say "Hello" when greeted (some of them even told my room mate to shut up). [/off topic] It would be cool to be able to set the transparency on windows, and whether or not they combined or not when overlapped, etc. |

Heh, I donno, I enjoyed it for quite a long time, then PvP just made it even better (assuming you were Freeport). Im taking a break for a while though as I've RE-Discovered Second Life for a hundredth / thousandth time
