I love the idea as well! That would be so neat to have these people gone from bothering us, but also have them bothering each other -- I'm in no doubt that they may come to enjoy being there.

No... it wouldn't be as much fun knowing they wern't disturbing someone else's fun. kind of like how sadists don't get off on hurting masochists.

One thing I might want to point out: with the sim limitations and the rather large number of griefers, wouldn't the prisons become overcrowded pretty quickly?

Build more prisons!
lol, no seriously, you're right, it would probably have to be a samll continent.
So yes, Australia, it is. ^_^

So who pays the tier on the prison sims?

The taxpayer, just like in real life. ;)

Similarly, there should be zoning codes in special sims for those who make ugly builds, myself included on occasion. If there's gonna be suburbia and Simshank Redemptions, there should be an UGLY ZONE. Then, we can all have an event to out-extort each other. You'll have to turn your particle count up into the hundreds of thousands to get the full effect, and own a video card that doesn't exist yet! Whee! :D

^joking, somewhat ;)

This wouldn't be as much as an issue if avatars were unable to access their inventory contents, including hair and clothing attachments. Just like a RL prison, they'd be put in a uniform. Maybe allow 2 choices of color uniforms, so that people could form teams. No prim-hair, no custom clothing, no vehicles....nothing except for what is on the prison island already.

No, I think we just remove the av limits to those sims, and let them live in lag hell. If they crash the sim, oh well, wait for it to restart before you can continue serving out your sentence.

Remember, the original idea, as posted, was to create a place that would be used not only to confine people who grief (but whose infractions aren't so great as to warrant an immediate ban), but which would also serve as a draw for people who seek a relatively lawless zone.
