Thats ok I'm waiting for Pathfinders very similar post to get moved here as well - my comment on how retarded that was seems to have been 'misplaced' over the last hour so I'll make it again.

I love how one thread down we have a feature suggestion made in this forum too.

Gotta love that consistancy. The only thing consistant round here is that its consistantly retarded.

Yeah - the greatest irony there is - the author of that misplaced thread is over on two other sites whinging about this thread, and urging people to AR it...

LOL - now that at least is funny.

Terrible color that green - not terribly becoming at all :)

Anyways - congrats to all involved - talented visionaries that deserve a good lick of that ice cream.

That person seems to have LL jumping through hoops these days.

P.S. Could somebody direct me to the resident website that is the topic of this thread? The primary focus appears to be an in-world build, the very one Torley wishes to visit.

I'm guessing it was moved here because the original post linked to the website to read up on it and find slurls but of course the experience of it is in world, *shrug*.

Congratz to the MillionsofUS team, Aimee et al.

Really inventive and well put together.

Love that music is leading the charge on branded content in Second Life.

If you get a chance, check out Spin Martin's sims also.

Very cool! I can't wait to check it out in more detail. As to the rest...some people *really* need to get a life. :)

I have to agree with Fizik and Flipper well done and kudo's to Aimee, Green, and Millionsofus. The whole point in companies like ours , or avalon or esheep, or millionsof us ,et al, in bringing corporations into SL is not just to forward the brands aims, but to provide an enriching expeirence for the residents of SL. I think this project accomplishes that goal just as well as BBC1 or Dublin or any simular type projects. I am looking forward to seeing more from all us. To the complainers and whiners out there, like Flip said get a life, stop complaining, and umm enjoy the show

Oh yeah, Boston. But no, I was referring to that in-world message of the day we got asking for a loft.

Wierd, not seen that. Would be a wierd way to do it, i doubt that it has anything to do with this. Warnes made it public sometime ago that they where looking for a developer.

Well, you can all call me jealous and tell me to get a life all you want, but that's silly, and probably indicates lack of a better argument.

My point is why should companies like yours get special treatment simply because they are bringing corporations into SL? To forward the brand's aims, among other things.

Resident companies that deal only in things indiginous to SL also provide an enriching experience for the residents of SL. Even non-profit ones - like the New Zealand island - get kicked out of General.

Similarly, if it is an event put on by residents - like SLCC - it belongs in the Events forums, no matter how wonderful it may be.

And I agree that it is a special and wonderful event, and of course Flipper et al. don't want to park it in the backwaters of Meet-Ups and Real Life Get-togethers, but then - if they want to promote it, they should have to promote it just like anyone else would have to promote their meet-up via advertising and other coverage if they wanted to promote it further than in the Meet-Ups forum.

Until the SLCC becomes an official Linden event, it's still just a meet-up run by residents.

Ditto with Electric Sheep and all the other businesses that specialize in bringing in outside companies. They are just businesses trying to make a profit, like everyone else, however special or wonderful they may be. If they want to get the word out, they should get it out via the same mechanisms every other business in SL has to use.

If the Lindens want to highlight these outside concerns being brought in (and I have no doubt that they do), then they should create a special forum, perhaps called "Real Life in SL," (a title which would guarantee high readership).

That forum could include all these advertisers - and there will be more in the future, and you all will be working for them - as well as events connected with real-life charities, and also those connected with education institutions, like Democracy Island and the Harvard thing.

But as long as advertising and events are not allowed in General, then they should be disallowed for everyone.

i dont really have the problem with advertising it as much as coco does... however do we really need 3+ threads about it?

I saw it, its cool, I want one on my land but no one Ive contacted has (as of yet) told me how to go about doing that.

Contact Reuben Tapioca and we can set you up. But understand things are a little crazy right now, so may take a day or two before we can hook you up :D

Coco I agree with you up to a point and that point is yes companies like IVM and esheep, millionsofus et al, should use the same channels of promotion the rest of the resident buisnesses do. In fact if you check you wll see I have never used either web sites or general to promote a sim build or an event. I do however plan to continue opening each new product with a sepcifically designed event and will continue to use event listings and special attraction forumsas the means to advertsise it that and the M2. its worked for us and we see no reason to change that.

Observation:

I hope this means that the next time someone is mentioned in a famous publication that their friend(s) will not be posting about it in General, as announcements so very obviously belong in the bulletin board forum.

Opinion:

The pics look great folks, kudos! I will be checking that out very soon!

Congrats to all involved.

You're right, Nolan, and that goes for the long list of other mentioned in official publications that preceeded my mention of one in General.

That category would also be better served by a "Real Life in SL" forum.
