From: Jennyfur Peregrine Did you link your avatar at one of the atm machines in world? No, that's the first I've heard of it. Would that have been the problem when I just wanted to add an item to my wishlist though? Why didn't it come up when I registered? It seems odd that my registration was ok. I'll look into the atm thing though. Albion

We're experiencing corruption problems on our main database server. We've been working around the clock to ensure that we minimize any data loss (although it's still quite possible we many not incur any data loss). Our plan right now involves bringing up a new server. We're going to go back to our last stable backup, and then restore any records from the time since that backup from the current database. That's why we have shut our doors.
We're taking our time and doing this slowly to ensure that we do it right. Our top concern right now, more than downtime, is insuring data integrity.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
Regards,
-Flip

From: Jennyfur Peregrine Have you tried contacting anyone in world? Its usually much quicker. Actually, who would I contact because at present, I can not even log into the site and I've had an account for quite some time. Sent a quest for my password to be sent (in the event I had actually forgotten it) and no response. O.o

We're back in business. It looks like we've managed to avoid any data loss as well, which is HUGE news. Taking our time was the right call. Since we had one team working on preventing data loss, we also took the time to move to our new servers, rather than have more downtime in the future. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused anyone. We pride ourselves on our uptime, and got caught with our pants down while we set up redundancy and a hot backup system. These will be in place very shortly, and at that point, if one server goes bad, we'll have a fully identical backup to fail over to at any point. Deposits and purchases should be working at full capacity right now. We're still tweaking the email handler, so updates to vendors (if you're trying to add new items, for example) and and new ATM requests will have to be held off for a few more hours. I want to thank the SLB tech team for pulling some very long nights recently. Ryan and Christian have been running on very little sleep to get this back up and running without data loss. Charissa: IM me directly and I'll get you settled. Take care folks, and thanks so much for your patience. Regards, -FlipperPA

Good to SLB back online but I'm having the problem with large marjority of my items of the product's real object name in the SLB database now changed into the "item name override" name. Which makes 90% of the items undeliverable as I've changed the "item name override" to something else in the past.

We're still looking into some data fixed, but with it at 98-99% fixed, we decided it was time to come back up to ferret out the 2% of problems remaining more quickly. Thanks as ever for the heads up! Regards, -Flip

I still don't think Dyna's question has been answered.
If you put a new item (or items) into an SLB box, and then press it to update it, are you supposed to lose all your previous item data?
This happened to me too, the day before the Second Life update, and it was a nightmare putting in all the information again for about 15 items. Never Again!
So, is this meant to happen, or not?

Thanks as ever for the heads up! Speaking of Ferrets... A lot of the items I put in my SLB Vendor get new names. For instance the Aura Crossbow I sell is really called "Aura Crossbow Set". Everything I renamed is now listed in my Sell section as having the name I put to show, ie SLB now thinks my item IS "Aura Crossbow" and not "Aura Crossbow Set". This happened with everything i had the display name changed on. I have reset the vendor, resent the items, but SLB still thinks wrong, so when someone buys the item, it tries to deliver "Aura Crossbow" and not the Set that's in the vendor, yelling out errors....

It has happened again, after re-entering most of my vendor data and photos last week, today I find that most of the items are unlilsted many of them have lost thier descriptions and photographs.
I hope SLB can get this fixed, I can't afford the time to keep doing this over again.

I agree totally ArchTx Edo; the amount of time it is taking to fix all these SLBoutique problems is becoming ridiculous. Seems like me and you are having a similar problem: my photos are disappearing, but for now my descriptions are staying up, but the tags keep disappearing. I'm not going to bother putting the data back on now until I get some sort of reply from SLBoutique about this problem. I have a bunch of new items I want to put up too, but I don't think it's worth my time putting all the data in until I have some reassurance that the problem will be fixed. As you can tell, they haven't yet addressed this issue of disappearing data on this thread. I wonder how long we will have to wait.
