SL's interface sucks and is horribly outdated - VLB has a modified version of There's easy to use Flash-based interface. You have to think of the target audience - the point is to socialize, buy clothes, and play games. There has much better vehicle physics, the avatars are more fluid, and it is just a lot easier to use. Yes, SL is light years head of it in capabilities - but the most advanced thing is not always the best for everything. I am no fan of There for a lot of reasons, but it was far better suited for the VLB project than SL would have been. You're pretty much right on the money for all of that Cris, great observations. It isn't to say that we didn't give SL the ol' college try for VLB, and you can check out the original SL version at the Laguna Beach sim that's open to the public now. Depending on the needs of the project, one platform might be better suited than another, and there's every possibility that SL will be better suited for future media projects in the VLB vein.

i looked at kaneva never did get in cant figure it out
-LW Kaneeva's virtual world is in private beta status now. In order to get in you have to be an active Kaneeva member, post is forums, make friends, stuff like that. I don't see any reports from anyone verifying that it actually exists, no user made videos.
