I'm with SL, for better or for worse. Not kissin up....that's just the way it is. A little SL, to me anyway, is better than none at all. It just needs more security as far as who gets in. No deterrents for griefers is bad.

it is beta and ya cant get in LOL. I like SL but its getting worse not better. its just too frustrating to start building something and not be able to finnish it. every week! -LW |

I paid for the lifetime account in There. I go back once in awhile just to see if anything has changed... nope nothing really.
Granted if lots of people went back and started making them some money again they may upgrade the servers, platform, etc and have a pretty kick butt system! *wakes up* huh? What did I say?? Musta bumped my head. _____________________

ActiveWorlds is consistently making improvements and its always up when SL is down. People might scoff at it, but you gotta wonder each time SL takes a giant leap backwards while other games are moving forwards..... If you're looking for other places to hang check out A Tale in the Desert yet another game that's constantly improving and moving forward. Its where I hang out at pretty much these days anyhow. (you can browse my ATITD and Egyptian blog posts for pics and whatnot about the game) Send a /chat message to Jenefre (that's me!) if you get in there and need help or just want to hang out with the Hedons of Egypt  Last note about AW: if you just wanna get your build on its perfect. The UI is a breeze the how to build doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out and there's land all over the place and people's worlds to build in: FOR FREE. At any rate learning and playing and having fun in applications that are actually constistently up and running will ease your SL frustrations until/if/when/whatever things improve here. _____________________

LOL - I used to play Activeworlds about 8 years ago and it was really neat then BUT they haven't improved their game at all. Sad because Activeworlds was ahead of it's time 8 years ago. I tried There before but didn't like it at all. SecondLife is really it for me BUT I can see why people are getting frustrated right now. Look on the bright side (?) - I'm sure the programmers are way more frustrated then why are. The fact that they can do nothing about these virus attacks (or object spamming as they call it) must be very frustrating. For them it's just waiting until the next one hits...

I just joined a couple of months ago, and am seriously thinking I may have jumped in too soon after enjoying a couple of LL 'good days'. This will definitely the last time I take any stock in Popular Science putting a good word in for this kind of thing, without more study.
Over the last few weeks, I have seen the grid go down more and more... and watched my already purchased time slip away... minute by minute and now hour by hour. |

I dont know whats with SL seems like it gets worse with every update and every update now needs an update to fix the update??? I havent figured that part out yet.
I admit I was a huge SL addict, I was a premium member for well over a year, owned almost a full mainland sim, SL mentor and Instructor. Now I look at SL and wonder why the hell I wasted so much money on this game, platform or what ever you want to call it. Well I sold all my land, droped my membership to basic, left the SL mentor and instructor groups, basicaly just log in from time to time to see friends I made here. Unless Linden Labs can make an attempt to stablize SL, more and more people will leave, some good points came up in this thread, there are a few mmorgp's out there that are moving forward and SL is moving backwards... i.e 1.7 the update that was supposed to eliminate lag actually caused more lag. |

And well, if I should pick another game.... Lucas Arts and Sony have still SWG up and running, it sucks (logged in yesterday when grid was down) but i canceled my subscription per 20 october.... I miss BRIA tho already, and hunting in deep space and solo-ing a Correllian Corvette.............. |

Hey calm down, progress is painful. I had been to other worlds over the years and SL is the best so far. So please, let us all just be patient and relax while things get settled and then we can have a party together, ok? Thank you all, this cgirl wants all the company she can get.
