We have forums galore now.

What benefit will I derive from joing the Stratics SL forum?
I am already in this forum, sluniverse, secondcitizen, sldrama, plus just for the heck of it I made 2 google groups. I suppose there's a slexchange forum too.
Also, what brought the Statics SL forum into being? Linden Research, or an SL user, or did the folks at Stractics see a demand, or what?

You never know what you'll find. You may find new friends. Or, you may be able to help someone with a problem they're having in SL. Regarding what brought SL Stratics into being is that it's my job to find new games that I feel our viewers should know about. We are the official forums for The Sims Online and there was quite a bit of chatter in their forums regarding SL. I came here to check it out and made a post to see what interest there was. You can check out that thread right here. Some interesting posts in there. Why not stop by and check it out? Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Let us know who you are and see what you might be able to do to help.

From: SuezanneC Baskerville What benefit will I derive from joing the Stratics SL forum? Stratics is the most well known and highly respected website for online gamers. It represents the 'industry standard' and the pinnacle of quality. Stratics sees the potential of SL, and has decided to add it to its vast portfolio of games represented, both officially and unofficially. I have been involved with Stratics for a long time, and it will be exciting to see how this will develop. Lewis

I will admit, the TSO forums are different from any other forums in the Stratics Network.
Won't hurt to stop by and see what SL Stratics is doing.

Straticsis one of the largest media entities that serves the core gaming community. Providing resources, information, interesting perspectives and engaging conversation, The Stratics team looks only to compliment the SL product and community by contributing good things to it. Regarded as a productive and positive entity in the gaming world, Stratics often works hand in hand with the most prolific developers in the industry, who often participate in the Stratics portal environments- and include Stratics in their Media events. Plus- It's another place to have fun! Phaylen

Stratics was a fantastic place for the game info. UO is very involved and thats why I used Stratics. I was forced by EA to use Stratics as a TSO forum. Which forums I managed to get myself banned from a few times due to speaking my mind rather than be a cheerleader Im in several forums for SL now and simply see no reason to go to yet another one.

Lewis Actually most "gamers" laugh at the rubbish of Stratics. No need to lie to boost your odd ego. As it's being run by you, no thanks.

As it's being run by you, no thanks. Considering that Stratics is the biggest and most popular MMORPG multi-games forum site on the web, I would question your comments. I assume that you *have* actually visited the site instead of just working on second hand information? I'm not running the Stratics Second Life portal, panic not. It's new, but it's growing. You would be most welcome. Lewis

I am. And, I would invite you to join us as well. Be a contributor.
If there are things on Stratics with which you aren't comfortable, why not communicate those thoughts in a constructive manner? That's how we make our sites better for all concerned.

The "biggest" and "most respected" gaming forum site should have better failsafes to minimize downtime in the event of a hardware failure! Very busch league. I had to work with them a few years ago, writing some code for a client of mine, and that was quite disappointing as well. Not to say that all of stratics sucks or anything, but my experiences thus far have been very sub-par. Either way, I'll check out the site every now and then if it remains active, but I guess I don't see the purpose since SL isn't a game and SL's web site contains plenty of info. Regards, -Flip

Stratics IRC killed my joy for the site...way way long ago... I'm more surprised there isn't an sl.ogaming yet, since IGE has vested interest in SL, but then again IGE would probably wait to find a decent SL site and just buy it out to add to it's portfolio... sorry huge gaming websites really can't provide for the small users the way smaller player run ones can, they are about the advertising, and making money.. not about the game.

One thing I have thought really cool so far is that since it has opened others have seen it on the other sites and portals stratics has and joined Second Life. Several as a matter of fact.
I know I enjoy stratics its a communty I feel comfortable in. I am new here so I don't post much I mainly read. I feel comfortable there. Im sure eventually Ill feel comfortable here and break out of my shell too.

Lewis oh puhleeze... stratics was the last guy standing after the board wars of early UO/EQ mostly due to the others falling by the wayside because of administrator burn out or being hired by whatever evil empire they were sucking up to the most. Respected? eh... put up with is more like it. Quality? Its a board. It has a data base backend. It has ads and draconian moderators. Just like every other board. Stratics board mods make the res mods here seem like they are sleeping on the job. Thanks but uh no thanks.
