Hey gang, I figured I'd pass this along from Jade Lily for those that haven't seen it:
Dear SLB Sellers,
I am very pleased to announce that we have dropped our commission on all sales made through SLBoutique.com to zero percent!
What this means is that when one of your items sell, all of the money paid for that item goes to you, the seller. Of course, if you have payment options set up on SLB, that money can be divided however you choose--there will simply be more to divide.
In the future, we will be adding the ability to purchase advertisements for your products through us if you choose, in addition to some other ideas that we hope will improve your sales on SLB.
We know that you work hard on your creations, and we believe that you deserve all of the money that comes from the sale of those.
I will update the FAQ and whatnot to reflect the change, but I couldn't wait to share the news.
Thanks for using SLBoutique!

Yea! 0% commission! This is nice surprise, but I would rather pay commission and have a better search engine so potential customers can find my items. I love how SLB looks and the ease of setting items for sale, but if customers can't find items in search 0% commission does me no good.

I gotta admit, I'm confused. If you're not taking commissions on sales, then are you just running slb out of love for the community?

It's still your SL name, just type your full name in the box.

We'll have more details on why we reverted to a user name soon. For now, it's just your avatar name with a space in between, as has been pointed out. Thanks!

The thread title display cuts off this thread's title so this is what shows up on my system: "No more SLBoutique ". Flip, are you by any chance working on a super-miniaturized version of SLB that will fit in a profile Web Tab display without scrolling?

Any sneak-peeks at what we'll be charged for advertising on SLB? Will the Top-Selling items/sellers be removed when advertising is implemented?
Curious, but happy for the no-comission change. I'll be hundreds of pennies richer this year! Mwahahaha*cough*ha.

I love the site as buyer but the information etc seems pretty confusing. I had few minor issues when I joined. It may be while before I put out my real life digital art though in second life. Still trying to figure out. I did post recolored mouse creation of old master block print in the profile of shop there. I thought I was doing something else. Your site is really beautiful it has great stuff delivery is system is better and different but I bought items to be delivered over did it lost items and have no ideal who contact and when I do there is little to no help. This sort of concerns me to my possible future customers. If I am haivng this experience as customer. The site can be bit confusing and unfriendly compared to SLExchange.

In my expierence with using SLB, usualy if something is not delivered for some reason either on SLB's end, my end, or LL's end. I would suggest contacting the creator that you purchased the item from and letting them know you did not recieve your item. If you log into SLB, click on MY Account in the upper left corner then click on Account History you can see what you purchased and who you purchased it from. ~Stormy

I could never find the contact info when I looked. Definitely send an IM to Commerce Leader. All IMs to Commerce Leader are put into a bug tracking system and typically replied to within 24 hours. We'll get you sorted out. The wonderful Digi Vox has been working on some very cool new SLB enabling items we'll be rolling out soon; more details to come! Regards, -Flip

From: Jacob Roundel That's a great site. Do you sell adspace on SLB? Id be interested in some Hi Jacob! We used to have advertising, removed it during the redesign, and are currently in discussions on how we're going to bring it back in (Google AdWords? Banners? Both?). We'll post more when we know more! Thanks for the kind words. I'll pass them along to the team. Regards, -Flip

Speaking selfishly, featured listing like on slx would be most appreciated. My items are just lost in the catalogue at slb and I would pay for featured listing.

The money in the account doesn't show up right away or at least it didn't when I joined. It took a bit for me to figure out where the balance was. I do like part of artistic lay out with what is currently there and the delivery system better then slexchange. For now I reccently removed all my funds from account there most likely won't be using them unless there is item only there that I just gotta have because I personally rather buy my content in game where I can see it up close or make it myself. I have no clue how to contact the commerce leader from the site or within SL personally.

For those not familiar with the idea, "Commerce Leader" is an avatar, an SL account just like the vast bulk of avatars you see, so far as the SL software is concerned, but it is used differently from the normal avatar that is operated realtime for chatting, building, etc. in that is used for business purposes, as an address to send messages related to SLBoutique, and perhaps for some other purposes such as a repository for funds, etc.
There are a many such avatar accounts, many of which have somewhat cutesy names like Commerce Leader.
Such avatars are created to overcome some of SL's shortcomings and limitations - for example, in real life a person running several businesses would have a separate phone number for each, plus one for their home, but SL only gives each avatar one IM "phone number" and doesn't implement the concept of a business or organization very well. Creating special purpose avatars helps to overcome these limitations.
Since the SL software sees these just the same as normally used avatars you find them using the people search just the same way you do for normally used avatars

From: Johan Durant Speaking selfishly, featured listing like on slx would be most appreciated. My items are just lost in the catalogue at slb and I would pay for featured listing. Just to add balance to this comment, I am a new designer looking into putting stuff on either SLX or SLB and I am leaning towards SLB partially because they *don't* seem to do this kind of crass commercial junk. Also, for the information of the owners of SLB and SLX that are likely looking at this thread, my two cents: SLB is way classier, and much easier on the eyes but the "tags" make it impossible to find anything. Searching for the name of the product should override the tag based search, whereas it doesn't seem to right now. SLX is the ugliest thing I have ever seen and just as hard to navigate IMO. It looks like something that might have been designed with Netscape Composer back in the 90's. Whoever is running that site needs to hire a serious designer with some idea of layout, color and useability. It does seem to have all the business though (which is a bit of a mystery), and I am considering listing on it for that reason alone. The other issue for me as a customer is the moral side. SLX as I understand it supports hackers and TOS violators by carrying their stuff without question under the idea that a jerk/criminal's money is as good as anyone else's (I disagree). Whenever something really bad has happened in SL lately, you can bet that the device behind it is for sale on SLX! I can't find the same hacker junk on SLB but I am not sure if it's because they have chosen to do no harm or if it's simply too hard to find with the search engine.

In addition to contacting Commerce Leader via IM, you can email support [at] slboutique [dot] com. All queries received are inserted into a bug-tracking system, so nothing falls through the cracks. Sometimes things do take a few days, as since Linden Lab switched the web-based transactions page to be a cached version, deposits take longer, sometimes hours. We're working on coming up with new methods to stop this problem. It used to be within a minute, guaranteed, but because of the new implementation, we can no longer promise that. We do our best with the tools provided, and hope to have a better (yet still as secure) implementation available soon.
Apologies for any inconvenience.
Regards,
-Flip
