I heard Thomas was being considered strongly Thomas is possible.... but unlikely. I don't remember if the Chief Justice has to be confirmed, but if either of them were put forward look for it to never even get to a vote in the senate. 'Back off man.... I have a fillabuster and I'm not afraid to use it.' |

Well his replacement has just been announced and it's not exactly an improvement
He'll be succeeded by White House counsel Alberto Gonzales who was responsible for the 2002 memo in which Bush claimed the right to waive anti-torture law and international treaties providing protections to prisoners of war. He's also publicly defended the indefinite detention of terrorism suspects without charges or access to legal counsel. Oh, and he's also previously represented Enron.
