From: someone Originally posted by Lash Xevious Less TV. I'm missing the shows I used to follow like the Apprentice or MAD TV reruns. Sometimes I turn it on just to have something up besides my computer. But I don't look at it. I was getting bored of Apprentice 'cuz there wasn't enough Trump, so I stopped watching. I may catch the clip show and finale tho.

I just don't watch TV period. It's not good for the brain.

LOL, which brings to mind... are there ANY positive slang terms for television? I have heard many negative ones, like "boob tube", "idiot box", and "device that couch potatoes are mesmerized by"... not to mention "TV rots your brain and renders you useless against any impending threat of alien invasion"......

Not to mention that the people on it are generally not of an acceptable intellectual caliber. I mean, they have specialty channels you have to pay extra for to get those kinds of people. Lately though, it apparently pays to be a freaking moron as long as you look like a heroin addict and act like a slut. I also find it amazing that with the cost of broadcasting, people will play clips of some drunken idiot head diving into a dryer.... THEN INTERVIEW HIM ABOUT WHY HE DID IT!! Yeah... I've seen this stuff. And each time it makes me hang my head. Still though, many of my friends tell me I'm crazy. Some people are even offended when I say I don't watch TV! It's strange... like they're brainwashed or something. lol

Lol. Television is not just for idiots. There is plenty of quality programming. Discovery and the Learning Channel are excellent uses of this medium. Additionally television is very interesting from a cultural view point. http://www.adbusters.org/home/One of my favorite sites and brilliant magazine. Long live Adult Swim.

No matter what I play, I always make time for CSI, I have a crush on Grissom, he's so smart (yes, I know he's acting *pfft*). I don't care much for CSI Miami but that's probably bcause I don't care much for Miami itself (although I do like Caruso). I started watching CSI New York and was most impressed by the grittiness (sp?), darkness and unease in general it transmits, Gary Sinise and Melina Kanakaredes are great, so I'll be watching that too. I watch the Law & Order spinoffs too, and Without a Trace. Unfortunately, we don't get ABC, so I miss out on David E. Kelley's latest Boston Law I think it's called (my two favorite things), so it's a shame I miss those. I refuse to watch *reality* tv shows That's pretty much all the tv I watch... sounds like a LOT compared to everybody else's posts lol Leilany

My TV watching was dwindling pretty seriously before SL but even with expanded cable there still is very little I watch unless I catch American Chopper, Monster Garage or something similar. 99% of the time its just like the song... "57 channels and nothin' on" 'cept it's up to 570 channels now! UU
