How do you see yourself as far as how you behave in-world and in-forum?
It would be cool if folks wouldn't mind stating how they see themselves as far as the relationship between the in-game 'you' and the in-forum 'you'. Are you the same, different, some of both, etc?
Do you belong to circles of friends or cliques? If so do they transcend both the forums and in-world?

Fascinating questions, Nolan. I'm the same here and inworld. Except for maybe the fact I am a far neater typer on here... LOL... and I have more of a chance to think about what I'm gonna say. My friends here are the same friends I have inworld -- with the exception of some who I am comparatively hostile with on the Forums. Must be all that bad drama getting to me.

In game I try and have fun.
In the forum I try and discuss problems facing Second Life, and respond to some funny topics too.
Any fierce debate that might go on in the forums I don't carry into the game; this is a great venue that I can keep separate.
I am, apparently, as some players have told me in game, a forum celebrity. This is kinda scary but it's nice to know there are more people who read the forums than just the people who post.

my demeanor is different on the forum from inworld, but there is quite a bit of "some of both," which is natural and unavoidable.
my sl friends have not transcended the game community. one obvious reason is that some people are afraid they might fall head over heals in love with me. it's quite understandable.
oh yeah, i'm with hiro on keeping fierce debates in the forum and not messing with my inworld fun. av sex and forum dhrama do not mix.

From: Hiro Pendragon I am, apparently, as some players have told me in game, a forum celebrity. snicker Fame is prerequisite for celebrity status, but not always sufficient. For example, high-profile criminals are famous, but not always celebrities. Being full of oneself does not make you a celebrity.

I suck at making polls and it shows in the fact that this was my 3rd try and it took so damn long.
Yawwwwwwwn!
Getting sleepy.
As for my self I have a few friendships that transcend both the forums and in-world. I do belong to a couple of loose knit circles of friends in-world, some of which I sometimes find my self in concordance with as far as general views on SL and life go but that is only to be expected. In the forums that has less effect for me, I have tangled with a few people, most of them "Oldbies" like me, some of which are in-world friends and some of which are not.
I think I am a less prone to debate in-world. I am not exactly sure why that is, it's something I have pondered a bit on, and haven't really come to any conclusions beyond a thought that it may be due to a subconcious thing when facing a representation of a human being.

I am always me, here and in SL. None of my friends actually hangs out on the forums, but I do it a lot when I am bored at work and can't get into SL.

I have met some great ppl on the forums *love you Kris*, who I rarely see in world, but when I do its FAB Sometimes Torley will pop buy and bombard me with watermelons (or rotten eggs), sometimes I will get the odd IM from Cristiano! Hiro danced his lil ass away all night at my wedding reception! Korg came by to view sloot mountain and we had a great chat! I think that on the forums and In World are two totally different things, in game I don't have many differences of opinion with ppl as I tend to keep myself to myself and just sorta boing all day (joke... mebbeh ), on here I tend to get a bit annoying I know.. but meh.. I am me, me is I and that is all me/I can be

I pretty much fly solo in-world, but I always enjoy seeing and talking to many of the people I have 'met' through the forums.

I am the same person in the forums as I am in world. And personally, the way I view others is to *not* view them differently on the forums from in world. To me the forums are just an extention, another part of the SL world. So I don't judge people differently between the two. I also have no one set group that I hang out with. I tend to go all over the place, *all* the time. So I usually end up seeing most of the people from the forums in world at some point.

i voted other because i don't know what "friend in the forum" means. other than waving at people occasionally, i don't do anything socially oriented in the forums. this is a place to argue the success and failure of the software, thus giving the lindens input, and to rant off steam. a number of people here rant by correcting, critizing and generally tearing down other people. but i imagine they do that inworld and in real life too. the rest of us can tolerate and feel sorry for them here just like we do everywhere else.
frankly, now that i'm just playing the game, i'm not sure what i'm doing here.
i've always been pretty much the same person inforum as inworld. feel free to argue that point with me if you like. i'm not always the best judge of my own character. one difference now is that i still feel obligated to post my opinion of the direction this experiment, sorry beta, sorry fully immersive production needs to take in order to become the w3b standard. i don't talk about those things inworld at all any more.

Me Im WYSIWYG both here and in world difference primarly being, is written words tend to enunciate my short fuse to anger. But the forums will do that to ya.
Typically in world Im light hearted happy and typicaly busting my ass building creating or supporing a customer.
In the forums I take out my grieviences as I feel my time in world is best spent working on projects and getting things done.
So for me my friends here in the forums rarely ever see me in world and my friends in world rarely ever visit the forums. <<as they rely on me to give them the poop on the stupid scoop.

I really cant tell How I am perceived here on average. My In game friends and i dont Chat or email here. Sometimes i see we comment on same threads but we dont even discuss forums in Game. Come to think aboutit i spend most of my time in game worrying how my friends and others perceive me.

I chose 'Other' simply because I don't really know what a forum friend is. There are people I usually agree with, (I'm actually beginning to suspect that I may be Chip Midnight's alt) and people I usually disagree with, and people I agree with on one issue and completely disagree with on another issue.. etc etc. Being friends with someone, in world or out, doesn't change my opinions or make me any less prone to declaring and/or discussing them, and disagreeing with someone doesn't make me consider them an unfriendly. (Though of course there are some people I wouldn't bother greeting in-world because they're such assholes here in the forums.)
