It's ok Sunny we can all misread posts, especially when defending a friend :).

Good post Rana and I agree with you.

What I don't understand is if people disagree with what is being said in a post, that they seem incapable of giving either an intelligent response, or no response at all, rather they prefer to rididule and be really abusive. I know some of you guys have been in SL a long time but that is no excuse for being so rude to people. I thought we were all adults in SL, obviously I was wrong.

So, on half a thread we have people berating someone for their poor grammar.

On the other half of the thread we have this person's friends come to gang up on the original offenders.

Meanwhile, the topic is entirely ignored.

Kudos and huzzah!

after i seen half of my rates are gone i am wondering if lindens trying force us to rate for there new price

just gotta point out that you don't have to rate so you can't be forced to rate.
From: someone
to me its no use to rate anymore your rates will gone after a few months

bingo. :D
From: someone
they dont think about some players that depened on stipend or is that there way to make us change the acount?

think of this as a painless easy way to learn to "live within your means" and manage your wants so that you don't spend more than you can afford. LL is doing us a favor letting us learn this important life skill with play money (that they give us for free) in a place with no real needs. thank you LL!

If only everyone could be as laid back and good natured as you, Zuzi, the world would be a much better place!

Everyone's ratings over six months old got axed. so all things being equal, what's the big deal? The increase in the cost of rating is to keep people from handing them out like candy without any meaning behind them simply as a way to pad people's stipends. Give out ratings as they were intended... as a way of telling someone, and letting the rest of the world know, that you think they rock. If you don't feel that way about anyone, or prefer to tell them in another way, then don't rate. The days of rating for profit is over... thankfully :)

It's not really less cash, at least not in any direct way. The ratings bonus money is paid out of a pool. Since most of us who've been around for a long time had most of our rates older than six months we're now getting a much smaller percentage of the pool. Your ratings bonus might actually be more now than it was before.

If your leaderboard positions are higher now than they were you'll get more money. If they're lower you'll get less.

Yes, True, Lordfly. But I think the attack had to be addressed...AND done away with before the issue at hand could be focused on. Thank you for keeping us on track with this. You did a great service by your post. OK. Now that the petty childishness has been addressed, on with the issue at hand.

If you think the bonuses are the only things that are being "tinkered" with right now, just wait. I have an intuitive feeling that they are not the ONLY things to be toyed with. Next will come the actual weekly stipends. As for me, I am judiciously guarding my current finances in SL. After the stipends are gone and the money I currently have is gone, that's it. There will be no more uploading of textures, no more making anything new, and I might even just start GIVING things away!

After all, this is a game. Games are, by nature, FANTASY! They were not meant in ANY way to represent real life, which is EXACTLY what SL is doing. After all, didn't we come into this game to take a BREAK from reality? We didn't come in here to get more of the same for Pete's sake!

What's with all the money games! Sheesh! I stand with Night, and several others on this issue! Is it a game or isn't it! If it is...stop treating it like it is Real Life! If it isn't...we need some serious Prozac here.

Philip Linden forces me to have av-sex while building large chrome buildings.

I try to stop, but I just *can't*.

Good, get used to it, because if there's one thing that remains the same in SL, is that it's always changing.

Take nothing for granted, ever. :)

Ever since, uh, well, version 1.0, actually.

Version 1.1: new tax codes, screwed some people over, people adapted
Version 1.2: land tier system, screwed some people over, people adapted
Animations: Screwed a lot of furniture makers who didn't want to make new animations, others adapted and thrived
Stipend cut: screwed some people, the rest are adapting
Ratings hike: screwed some people, everyone else has adapted

And so on and so forth.

Every version change will screw somebody over. Take nothing for granted.

Prior to version 1.2, you could own as much land as you wanted. No, seriously. Infinite land (well, of what was on the grid). Public land was everywhere. People bought Lifetime Memberships (couple hundred bucks back then), that basically said "no more monthly fees, plus your account will never get deleted". Back then it meant you had basically free reign over the world for the rest of your lifespan.

Version 1.2 came around and broke EVERYTHING.

This is small potatoes. :)

For the last time ( :P ) the Lindens are trying to promote the L$ and enhance the overall Capitalist scheme in SL. They don't care whether or not you rate people.
